Working 100% official Apple BCM94360CD with PCIe adapter from Mallaid/Taobao

Hi there,

I have a slight issue with my card. I recently replaced my old broadcom chip since it was a fake.

I got the new chip and reinstalled vanilla kexts for bluetooth and io80211before installing the new card.

Bluetooth works perfectly. However Wifi doesnt. It doesnt even get detected as a wifi hardware. The chip seems to be official since it says (and i used darwin dumper to check) it's 20702B0.

What can i do to get wifi detected and working? I am running on a ga-ex58-ud5 with a system definition of 5,1.
Here's what i see in system info which is what i see in the dumper as well.

Please and thank you!

EDIT*

I installed the card on a PCIEx1 and it worked perfectly. Wi-Fi & Bluetooth & Handoff and Continuity.

The only isssue i'm having now is that the handoff only works from iphone to mac; not from mac to iphone. So when i open messages on my mac it wont show the hand-off icon on my iphone or ipad even after deleteling all icloud accounts on all devices and re-inserting them.

Iphone to mac is instantaneous though.

Any thoughts please and thank you :)

For anyone who still had problems installing the Bluetooth drivers for Windows 8.1: I found a solution. I already had installed the Bootcamp drivers, but still they weren't accepted for the device. Device Manager had an unknown "Bluetooth USB device" in the list. What you need to do to get it working is manually selecting the already installed driver. Let me quote from StackExchange:
  • Open Device Manager, open the Bluetooth Radios subtree, right-click the "Apple Broadcom Built-in Bluetooth" icon, and choose the "Update Driver Software..." menu item.
  • Choose "Browse my computer for driver software"
  • Choose "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
  • Select "Apple Inc." for Manufacturer, and "Apple Built-in Bluetooth" for Model, and click Next.
After the driver installed, "Apple Broadcom Built-in Bluetooth" had been replaced by "Apple Built-in Bluetooth" and "Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator" in the Bluetooth Radios subtree of Device Manager, and I was then able to use the Add a device wizard to set up my Bluetooth mouse and keyboard.

i buy the card that i found on post #84 at point 2,because i have a motherboard (ASUS H87M-Plus) with no PCI-E x1

so with this solution both connectivity (wifi & bluetooth) work like a charm.
in this system i have dual boot in separated SSD. Mavericks and Windows 7 64bit
For those trying to work this card with Windows 7 64bit,i found this drivers and work it perfect.

Saminn,

It is all about ability to power Bluetooth part from sources other then PCI-E rail.
To power 3.3V Bluetooth from 5V USB rail, circuit board must contain step down voltage converter. Most likely AMS1117 module would be used for this purpose: http://translate.google.com/transla...015?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item564f130cef

It looks like the adapter board that you found has ASM1117 build-in (circled in red), which suggests that two extra wires going to USB header connector are used to power Bluetooth. Adapter constructed in such a way should function properly in any PCI-E slot.

Thanks man

I think I will go ahead and purchased than, as this GYMLE usb dongle is killing me because of having too much lag and disconnects.

Hey everybody. I have just installed the card as I was hoping to get Bluetooth and Wifi to work with Handoff.

I'm using the BCM94360CD (iMac version with AC WiFi) and the same adapter as the one in the last post.
Since it didn't work the first time I installed the card I thougth I'd do a fresh install since I had been playing with some kexts before.

But even on the fresh install I can't get this thing to work. The only working part of this is Bluetooth. I can connect to an Apple Magic Mouse and use it. But there is no WiFi device detected anywhere.
The PCI card is connected to another PCI slot (since they downward compatible)

Hope someone can help me out on this.

Edit:

Ok I have just tried the normal PCI-E X1 Slot and it worked perfectly fine. I still don't know why it won't work on the other slot (I can't use my X1 Slot as there is no place to put the antennas) but i guess I'll have to live with it until I do my Mac G5 Mod. I have one which is far from good. I can't use more than half of my PCI Slots and everything is a bit messy. I might to post about it in this Forum.
