I actually got a problem when booting W10 after the installation and several updates as it got a problem with the BCD, then I choose to boot "Reserved for System" partition within chimera and it started!

Me too got a problem with a strange MS error like 0x8yfzaqlkjh911xc but as I have two disks (one SSD for Mac and a poor SATA for win) I realize that the only way to install the OS was to change bios boot sequence and to boot directly from SATA and not passing from chimera.

BTW, in an hour using W10 my only feel is that I really just want to go back on Windows 7, it's faster, it's lightweight and it has only what is needed (including a smaller start menu) because I really use windows just for emergencies, my daily use is with my great Mac

So I downloaded the installer and put it onto a USB. Upgrading my current install fails because it supposedly can't determine if Windows can run (probably a GPT + legacy BIOS instead of UEFI problem), and doing a full install fails because I only have a Windows 8 key. I'm far too cheap to pay for a full license just to play some games.

Oh well, at least I have a year to figure this out. :p

if you have the iso
you can just place it on the desktop
right click mount
open the mounted image
double click setup
its that simple
you have to upgrade first before you can clean install
I haven't cleaned installed yet but this is how i did the upgrade

Same problem; I create my USB Boot Iso (W-10 Pro), when I start installation / upgrade, after first reboot I got an error , and the installation go back to W-8.1 !!! I think the problem is for dual-boot !

Any solutions ??:beachball:

What did you use to create the USB? Best to use the Windows 7 download tool for this. I had absolutely no problems creating the USB and installing with it using this tool.

I have Win7 installed on its own HDD, and Chimera does a fine job of booting Windows as well as Yosemite.

Has anyone tried Win10 and encountered difficulty with Secure Boot?

It would only possibly be a problem with a new motherboard designed for Win 10. The
motherboard OEMs now have the option to include a UEFI setting to disable Secure Boot.
Some of them will but some of them probably won't bother to include that toggle anymore.
I'd guess that most of them probably will. If you are running Win 10 on an older mobo it
won't be a problem at all. I recently installed 10 on an older Vista era PC and had no
problems booting it. Booted suprisingly fast too.

I've got Win10 Enterprise dual-booting with Yosemite using Chimera. My mobo doesn't have a UEFI option to disable SecureBoot, but I managed to get around it. Win10 lives as harmoniously with OS X as does Windows 7. I'll detail my steps for anyone interested.
