OSX Mavericks / ASUS G750JX - INSTALLATION GUIDE

Ok ! I am now able to go to the installation program using the boot flag = 1 nv_disable I install Mavericks successfully but unfortunately I always use nv_disable = 1 to get to boot and therefore do not use graphics card.

You'll need to do some research on how to properly enable your graphics. First step is to use the proper SMBIOS (needs to be one that is present in AppleGraphicsControl.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy/Contents/Info.plist.

I do not really know how to do and what to look about it but I'm at least going to AppleGraphicsControl.kext / Contents / PlugIns / AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy / Contents / Info.plist and this is what it contains :

You're looking at the wrong kext.

I have an Asus G750JX-TB71 running Yosemite 10.10.2 with almost everything working except for HDMI sound. I haven't been able to get HDMI audio to work with Voodoo or AppleHDA. Analog works fine with Voodoo. I was hoping someone here could lead me in the right direction or provide a AppleHDA.kext or DSDT patch that would work. I know the audio uses ALC282 for Realtek. I've included a screenshot of DPCI Manager showing the audio devices. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

HDMI-audio on Haswell has several requirements:
- the device at address 0x00030000, usually called B0D3, must be renamed to HDAU
- the resulting HDAU device must be recognized by AppleHDAController (config.plist patches required if not natively recognized... or you can use FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio.kext)
- your framebuffer must be patched for HDMI-audio (there are patches in my default config.plist (disabled) files: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Clover-Laptop-Config). It is trial/error to determine which port your HDMI is connected (actually, they are positional and you can tell by looking at ioreg).
- patched AppleHDA is required (sometimes VoodooHDA works, but my experience has been not good)
- you have to inject "hda-gfx"="onboard-1" for IGPU/HDEF/HDAU objects. This is usually done with DSDT/SSDT edits (_DSM methods)

@RehabMan

I have followed this guide step by step. It seems that you removed the mach_kernel for 10.9 so I made my own via the terminal using your instructions and replaced the one on the USB installer. But the USB installer is taking a long time to boot into the installer. Pls let me know if It'll even boot the or if I have to do something else.

Any help is appreciated.

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Asus G750JM (windows boot manager)
i7-4710HQ @ 2.50GHz Haswell chipset I guess.....
Intel 4600, Nvidia GTX 860M 2 GB, 1920X1080p.

I will be installing this on a new ssd so thats why I put down windows boot manager. But the problem is with the usb installer.

Read carefully... "in your profile".

Note: Posts with large amounts of text should use (ZIP) attachments.

With both Intel 4600 and Nvidia, use the Clover guide linked from the FAQ.

The installer actually boots it but I think it gets a kernel panic. I created the usb with unibeast and replaced the mach_kernel with a patched one. I will try it with nv_disable=1 -v one last time. I saw that with chimera/chameleon I would need to patch the mach_kernel which I did. So you are suggesting I install clover on my flash drive. So can I just modify my mavericks installer by putting back the unpatched mach_kernel and installing clover on my usb and deleting chimera/chameleon. Can I get a link for the clover install.

Ps I will update my profile. sorry

Thx
