BrcmPatchRAM - Upload firmware into Broadcom Bluetooth USB devices

Thanks Rehab! Installed the 1.7 kext and BT is now working.

Only thing is I can't access the BIOS any longer from my Apple Wireless keyboard. I was able to do this with the BCM94360CD PCIe x 1 with no issues.

I also notice that mouse response is now not as good. Wonder what's causing that???

BIOS would need to have Bluetooth support, including a firmware uploader for the case of cold boot.

Seems unlikely.

Different firmware?

Different firmware?

Well, since this works perfectly on the BCM94360CD PCIe x 1 version and the only real difference is that BT is connected to the motherboard's open USB 2.0 header, could this be the reason that you can access the BIOS on one and not the other?

On the issue of signal strength with my Apple wireless Magic Mouse, can the firmware be modified or changed on the 360HMB that might improve signal strength??

Does the BCM94360CD have built-in bluetooth firmware?

Compare performance on OS X vs. Windows. See which firmware is used on Windows.

I'm not sure if the 360CD has built-in BT firmware. How can I check?

After making an adjustment to the antenna, I was able to improve overall performance. Also, I checked System Profiler to check that it shows up as BT 4 and it does.

If it works in OS X on cold boot and wake from sleep without a firmware uploader kext, then it has firmware resident on the device.

Then it obviously must. I wonder if there's a firmware update for the 360HMB which would provide this function?? I don't have Windows installed on my hack so I'm limited to doing updates like this.

Thanks again!!

What device are you referring to that "obviously must" have firmware preloaded?

I just meant that the BCM94360CD card must have firmware preloaded that allows for pre-boot loading into the bios for wireless devices such as the Apple Wireless keyboard.

I think it does have firmware preloaded, but I don't own the hardware so cannot confirm.

If it works from cold boot, then it definitely has firmware preload. If it works only after restarting from an OS that has firmware uploading drivers installed... then not so much.
