[SUCCESS] Yosemite On Fatal1ty AsRock x99x Killer, GTX 980, i7-5820k And Update to 10.10.3

Finally after 4 months of trying to install OS X on my custom build, I have finally Succeed to install it and have a working Hackintosh!

The Build:
Fatal1ty AsRock x99x Killer.
Nvidia Geforce GTX980.
Intel i7-5820k.
16GB Crucial DDR4 RAM.
1Tb WD Green.

Before You Start Make sure to disable the Serial in the bios!

NOTE: You Need another Graphic Card! I Recommend GeForce 8400 GS its only for 35$ at BestBuy.

Steps:

  1. Remove GTX980 from your build and install an older GPU that is compatible (in this Guide I'm using the Geforce 8400 GS).
  2. Follow this Guide Haswell-E + X99 Motherboard Temporary Guide - OS X 10.10 Using these Boots:
    • -x -v cpus=1 npci=0x2000 GraphicsEnabler=Yes
  3. When You arrive to post installation use these in MultiBeast:
    • Drivers:
      • Audio:
        1. ALC1150
        2. Optional HDAEnabler: Audio ID: 1
        3. HDMI Audio is Working Perfectly Fine using HDMIAudio.Kext with the latest Nvidia drives.
      • Disk:
        1. 3rd Party eSATA.
        2. Intel Generic AHCI SATA
        3. Enabler Trim Patch
      • Misc:
        1. EvOreboot.
        2. FakeSMC v6.11.1328
        3. NullCPUPowerManagement
        4. USB 3.0
        5. VoodooTSCSync 6Core
      • Network:
        1. Killer ALXEthernet v1.0.2
        2. AppleIntelE1000e v3.1.0
    • BootLoaders:
      • Chimera v4.0.1
    • Customize:
      • Boot Options:
        1. 1080p Display Mode
        2. Basic Boot Options
        3. IGPEnabler=No
        4. Instant Menu
        5. Kext Dev Mode
        6. User KernelCache.
      • System Definitions:
        1. Mac Pro 5,1
      • Themes:
        1. Tonymacx86 Black
  4. (Feel Free to add anything else based on your build. However I'm not responsible for anything that happens to your computer).
  5. Restart.
  6. When you try to boot into your Yosemite Volume you might get an error:
    • Boot0 = Error
  7. If you get this error then do the following if not then Skip to the next Step:
    1. boot system back into OS X installer.
    2. Run Disk Utility and unmount the drive you installed OS X on. Right click on the volume and select Unmount.
    3. Launch Terminal and execute the following command:
      Code:
      dd if=/usr/standalone/i386/boot1h of=/dev/disk0s2
    4. Exit Terminal
    5. Reboot Normally
      • NOTE: The above instructions are based on OS X being installed to a hard drive connected to SATA port 0. If you are using a different port you will need to get the drive device name from Disk Utility by selecting the volume and clicking Info.
    6. This Guide is made by MacMan in the Post: boot0 Error: The Official Guide
  8. Now Start up your Build with these flags:
    • -v GraphicsEnabler=Yes npci=0x2000 (use: -f -x if boot doesn't work).
  9. If your update is 10.10.3 Then skip this step if not then follow this guide:
  10. Now go to the NVIDIA Alternate Graphics Drivers and install it then Reboot with the same flags.
  11. Go to System Preferences > NVIDIA Driver Manager > Then Select NVIDIA Web Driver.
  12. Now Go to Finder > /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist and edit that and search for the line
    • <key>Kernel Flags</key>

      <string>kext-dev-mode=1</string>
      and make it as this:
      <key>Kernel Flags</key>
      <string>kext-dev-mode=1 npci=0x2000 nvda_drv=1</string>
  13. Save that file and Shutdown your Build then Uninstall the Old Graphic Card and add the GTX980 then boot up with no boot-flags.
  14. All done Enjoy

i have the same motherboard with r9 280x. The onboard audio is working. just make sure to upgrade to yosemite to 10.10.3 and install voodoo in multibeast.

I am currently facing sleeping issue, where when it wakes up from sleeping, system freezes. otherwise, everything seemed to work fine, and R9 280x seemed to work without any additional work.

hi XxQ8LioNxX, thanks for the guide. I have a question regarding your build. do you have the sleep problem where when mac goes to sleep, sometimes it just doesn't wake up or takes about 1 - 2 to wake up? Also the shutdown on my build is slow. takes about 1 minute for it to shutdown.

thanks

For the sleep issue, no Im not facing that issue. However for the shut down yes it takes 1 min to shut down for some reason.
