ASUS P5Q - Yosemite Installation Success

All perfect to me but i use GraphicsEnabler=No on Boot.plist only one thing: when i try to connect any USB device, yosemite its freeze.

Is the booting stuck here??

Waiting for DSMOS is the problem with FakeSMC.kext, means it may not loading or not installed. Try to boot with your bootable USB.

I don't really understand what happened. Anyway, I could only boot in single user mode (-s) and through there I deleted ethernet and audio kexts, plus some other tweak found to solve the "Waiting for DSMOS" error but nothing. At the end I was going to reinstall the system from scratch and I run the Fix permission action from Disk Utility using the live Installer, but without reinstalling everything as of yet. Then I tried to reboot as it fixed many things and it worked. Funny thing is, I never really touched the FakeSMC.kext. Mystery. Or maybe it was an issue with the Audio, because after I tried to reinstall the Audio kext and again I'm having issues with the DSMOS. However, I can't bee sure about it because my system it is clearly possessed; like: out of nowhere at some point it did a reset on the BIOS settings.

EDIT: My issue came from installing the audio drivers. I found this (http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/52627-asus-p5q-deluxe-ditch-voodoohda-new-audio-kext-available.html) made of four Kexts (AD2000b.kext, AppleHDA.kext, HDAEnabler.kext, HDAFEnabler.kext, HDEFEnabler.kext) for an old version of OS X. If anyone got the AD2000b working on Yosemite please let me know!

Thank you very much for this guide, finally I was able to install everithing on my P5Q-E with some slight variation, but I have a problem with my GPU, because if I use GraphicsEnabler=Yes the installer doesn't start, and after having installed the system is the same, I've tried two kexts for my AMD Sapphire HD4830 (ID 0x944C1002) and the system recognizes it but I have a lot of glitches so is not working, what can I do to fix this?

Thank you very much for this guide, finally I was able to install everithing on my P5Q-E with some slight variation, but I have a problem with my VGA, because if I use GraphicsEnabler=Yes the installer doesn't start, and after having installed the system is the same, I've tried two kexts for my AMD Sapphire HD4830 (ID 0x944C1002) and the system recognizes it but I have a lot of glitches so is not working, what can I do to fix this?

There is no VGA support on Yosemite as the Apple devices not using VGA.

Use DVI/HDMI connections.

Sorry, I mean GPU, not VGA, however it was connected with DVI, but now I've solved the problem because I've found the right kexts for 10.10.3, finally working!

ASUS P5Q - Pro Yosemite runs slow motion

Hi Everyone I have a P5Q-Pro mobo, q9300 processor, and EVGA NVidia 650 ti Boost graphics card. I was able to install Yosemite 10.10 from a USB but when I reboot from the HDD it takes forever to get to the logon screen.

Boot screen get stuck on [IOBluetoothHCIController][SearchForTransportEventTimeOutHandler] -- Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport for about an hour. Then I can get into the login screen from there another hour of spinning beach ball until I can get into Yosemite. I was trying to run Multibeast but everything is running in slow motion and seems unresponsive.

I'm using these boot args to get into the system -v GraphicsEnabler=No IGPEnabler=No PCIRootUID=1 ahcidisk=1 debug=8

I'm thinking to wipe the HDD clean and do a reinstall.

***Problem Solved***
Edited the NVDAStartup.kext and added device id like the string below:
<key>IOPCIMatch</key>
<string>0x11c210de&0x0000ffff</string>
Deleted AppleNforce.kext my board doesn't support Nforce chipset. Backed up all ATI and Intel kext.

Now the system boots up really fast without the waiting for DSMOS/ DSMOS Arrived/ and Missing Bluetooth Controller.
But the logon screen still takes 10 minutes once user and passwords entered. I'm wondering is something missing. Once logged on everything works fine.

Recently installed yosemite on my Asus P5Q-E which has this ADI ad2000b sound card, I used latest unibeast and mulitbeast to do the install.
I followed this installation guide
The installation guide is for the Asus P5Q which has a different ethernet card and audio card. so I didn't do what he included for that.
Following the guide, After installation, I copied the Extra folder from the "USB yosemite install" to my main folder, then I launched multibeast installed
1. Chimera 4.1
2. Mac Pro 3,1 defintion
3. GPUEnabler=Yes
4. IGPEnabler=No
5. Theme white Tony Theme

I have not installed anything else,
The computer runs well with my WIFI card, bluetooth dongle without any other modifications.
It sleeps wakes and shuts down reboots fine.
The 2 problems I have are the audio and my ethernet card.
I know once i solve my ethernet, I can connect to the apple store etc.
But before I do anything I want to get my audio working.
Once I figure out how to fix my audio, I will move on to the ethernet card. If I start messing things up in the fixing of my audio, I can always reinstall fresh reinstall but I want to get the exact method to get audio working on a clean install of yosemite.

Since i don't have a DSDT or anything like that, It is a very basic install and would like getting the native hardware working before I start moving on.
Can you please explain to me how i would get the ad2000b audio working. Should I create DSDT, I don't want to use someone else's DSDT, I want to keep my install as vanilla as possible.
Or can you please point me in the right direction.

My specs
Asus P5Q-E
Q9550
8gb ddr2
2 570gtx SLI
TL-WDN4800 wifi card natively works
IOGEAR GBU521 natively works
2 128gb SSd
1 2tb HD

I see on this thread they got audio working, but I think I need a DSDT to use this and I don't have one, should I create a DSDT, and If i create a DSDT or is there a way to use kextbeast to install and get my audio working.

ASUS P5Q-E and P5Q Deluxe Installation Guide
You have to have your ethernet card installed first before you can compile a DSDT to make audio work, so follow my instructions otherwise you are gonna get errors when compiling the DSDT.

This is my guide I made for my Yosemite 10.10.3 working on Asus P5Q-E, I am pretty sure it will work on the Asus P5Q Deluxe.

My System Specs
Asus P5Q-E
Intel Q9550 OC 3.6ghz
8gb DDR 2
2 Nvidia GTX 570 SLI
TL-WDN4800 wifi card natively works
IOGEAR GBU521 natively works
2 128gb SS
1 2tb HD

I do not have iMessage working and I DO NOW(added something else) have S3 sleep working.

I created the unibeast disk following tonymacs guide for yosemite.
I only used Legacy USB support option.

I followed Cacamaca's guide from here but I will go into exact detail of how to get our ethernet and audio working.

After booting from the USB make sure you use these bootflags before installation. Depending on your GPU, you may not need these. I needed them for the 570gtx

GraphicsEnabler=Yes
IGPEnabler=No

After you install yosemite on the SSD, your PC will restart and you need to use those bootflags again or whichever combination you used to boot from the USB to install the first time.

Complete the setup and do what Cacamaca said with copying the "Extra" folder from the USB to the main drive you installed your yosemite on.
To do this:
You will first have to enable viewing hidden files from terminal.
Open terminal type this
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES

Then go to your installation USB copy the "Extra" folder
Then go to finder then click on "Go" in the top of the toolbar then click "computer"
Then click on the hard drive you installed yosemite on.
Then Paste the "Extra" folder there.

After This is done, Go back to your USB and copy the
Multibeast folder to your downloads folder.
Open Multibeast and install these
GraphicsEnabler=Yes
IGPEnabler=No
Mac Pro 3,1
Chimera v4.1
Tonymacx86 White Theme(or whatever theme you use)
TRIM Enabler 10.10.3 patch(Only if you have an SSD)
3rd party sata
FakeSMC
FakeSMC plugins
FakeSMC HW monitor Application(not needed)
PS/2 Keyboard/Mice and Trackpads(for older mouse and keyboards)

Done for my S3 sleep
Hibernate Desktop Mode(tried to fix S3 sleep, didn't work by itself)
AppleRTC Patch for CMOS reset
You should restart you computer after this but may not need to.

After you install those Use KextBeast to install these(Thanks to Koliberk) that I have attached(you need to place these kexts on the desktop and then open kextbeast and install)
AppleYukon2.kext (This will install the ethernet card)
AppleVIIATA.kext (This enabled my IDE DVD drive)
lspcidrv.kext (Not sure what this does but Koliberk installed it, If someone knows what it does, let me know)

Restart Computer. (To make sure that Ethernet is en0 and your wifi is en1)
Now go to System Preferences
Go to network and delete everything by clicking the "-" sign on the bottom right next to the "+" sign.
Open finder, click "Go" on top of the toolbar click computer then open your main mac drive, open library, then preferences, then SystemConfiguration. Now delete preferences.plist and NetworkInterfaces.plist.
Empty Trash and reboot.

Try to log on to your App Store now and see if it connects. Now Restart computer.

For Audio to work natively with ADI A2000b, you need a working DSDT and a few kexts.
Now Download a program called Maciasl
Open it and click compile to see if there any errors.
Then click on "Patch" in the middle.
On the left it will show a folder with a triangle pointing to a folder called "SourceForge"
click on the triangle then click "Insert DTGP" then click "apply" on the bottom right. Then close.
Now while in Maciasl find this in your DSDT "Device (P0P4)"
AT THIS POINT OPEN UP THE .doc file I have attached in the zip file and follow those instructions to copy the correct Device HDEF into DSDT using Maciasl.

Now click compile again. Save The DSDT as DSDT.aml by clicking "File" then "Save As"
name it DSDT and choose format as ACPI Machine Language Binary.

Copy this DSDT to your Extra folder in your main drive.

Dont restart yet, Install these kexts that I provided using KextBeast(You need to place these kexts on desktop with no other kexts on there)
AppleHDA.kext
HDAEnabler.kext

Now restart and you should have Audio fully working. Even the front port for the mic works.
Let me know if you need any other information or have any other recommendations.
My iMessage does not work and my computer does finally bootup back when it goes into S3 sleep by checking those 2 options in multibeast.

In the Zip file I have the Kexts and my DSDT I would recommend using your own DSDT but you can look at mine for the audio part.

Thanks for the Guide, everything works properly. I have a small issue here, I can only get sound from the Headphone jack.

The port on the back of the mobo is not working.
