As I always advised, run iMsg debugger and check the values for any irregularities - If found they must be addressed before iMsg/F-Time will function as they should - Any difficulties or queries post back - Good luck.

Truly wonderful guide - thank you for your tireless work!!

.....and yet I am unsuccessful. :(

First time Clover build on a GA-Z87X-UD7-TH.

I am very excited about how Clover seems to be working pretty easily in terms of having the machine up and running, and I was hoping it would help me get iMessage working, but no joy!

I’ve read through the guide multiple times and have tried multiple times on a fresh install but I am unable to connect to iCloud servers: “You cannot sign in to iCloud because there was a problem verifying the identity of this Mac”

My basic steps from the guide:

1) (Chapter 4) Start with a fresh install of Yosemite via Clover (every time I fail, I would start over by cloning back my original fresh install, where I haven’t touched any ID numbers)
2) Using Clover Configurator, SMBIOS -> magic wand -> iMac 14,2 (also tried iMac 14,1) -> shaken a few times to get fresh Serial Number

2) (Chapter 5) Open Terminal and “uuidgen” a few times to generate SmUUID, paste it into SMBIOS page.

3) (Chapter 7) Copy the last 12 digits from SmUUID and use as ‘ROM’ value on ‘RT Variables’ of Clover Configurator

4) (Chapter 7) Copy the Serial Number into ‘MLB’ value and add extra random digits to make 17 digit MLB. I even tried variations of it from reading through the aforementioned post here (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/303073-pattern-of-mlb-main-logic-board/page-5) but NO JOY

5) I would always reset iMessage cache and preference files for good measure before starting again. (Chapter 3.3)

Does anyone have any luck with this MB and getting iMessage to work with Clover? I am giving up for now and will try a legacy (non-Clover) install to see if I have any better luck.

You really shouldn't really have any problems with that MB, its the same Chip Set as mine and its rock solid - I would look at your Network Settings as I think thats where the problem maybe - Have a search around the Forum for a similar build and see what settings etc was used - I don't know if the two screenshots of the ethernet kext I have installed and my network settings will lead you in the right direction but hope it helps in some way - Good Luck.

@bnishii,

As noted above i would also be suspect of your network settings .... Check BSD names and ensure NIC is flagged as built in ... see Chapter 3.2

Cheers

With all the history involving iMessage on Hackingtoshes this guide has become rather large, and I honestly don't know where to begin anymore.

@vmiyoshi,

I'm working on adding a 'Quick Start' chapter which will cover both Clover & FileNVRAM methods as a simple check list, each method will detail the basic steps required to get iMessage working ... referencing the the detailed guide chapters at each step.

Should be ready in a few weeks .... workload allowing.

Cheers
Jay

Your values looks ok in so far as ROM, MLB and S/N so the next place to look would be your network settings - see jays post #4613 also chapter 3.2 Guide Notes - Good Luck.

@ joel.bep - I just had another look at your values and realised your mac model s/n maybe wrong as the MacBook Air models Serial Numbers begins with CK and not C0. If you've used Clover Configurator, It looks like you've accepted the first s/n offered up. In Clover Configurator, you must shake the 'Week of Manufacture Button' a few times (aim for a number between 30 to 40) and then shake the 'Unit Number Button' a few times which will then give you a S/N beginning with CK and not C0. Chameleon Wizard for some reason gets the s/n wrong for the MacBook Air, so its best to use Clover Configurator.

Your SmUUID and ROM are ok to reuse, your MLB and Mac Model S/N needs to be done as these values are wrong - sorry for my initial post, I am in a rush as I am of to work -post back any problems or queries - Good luck.

Serial Number C02L6754DRVC is valid for a MacBookAir5,2 - everymac.com.
