How to Install Second Ethernet Card? (Recommend)

Hello,

I decided to install a second ethernet card .I've a spare D-Link DFE-530TX (DL10028) lying around


which my yosemite refuses to even detect.

Is there any procedure to install secondary card?
Are there any recommended ethernet cards that I can procure?

If Yosemite doesn't detect it, it's probably because the card isn't supported - it uses a Via Rhine chip. Besides, it's PCI, not PCIe.

If you want one that will work OOB, you'd be better off with a PCIe card with an Intel Gigabit or Pro/100, Marvell 88e8xxx, Atheros AR81xx, or Realtek RTL81xx chip. Some options:
