Hello GuitarGuy, I have the same error message.. cannot install the webdrivers...
My system definition says Mac Pro early 2008. (i5 3570k mobo is gigabyte Z77-DS3H)

i'd like to buy a GTX 960 but reading about all these problems users are encountering is stoping me.

Were you able to solve the problem?

I will try to customize definitions in Multib to Mac Pro 4 or more... (now is 3.1)

There really aren't any problems with the GTX 9xx cards. People that have problems generally have poorly setup config files or have a bunch of unnecessary kext files installed.

Hello SlimJim! really? everyone is posting about problems with the GTX 9XX GPUs...

I actually have a GT 950 which is recodnized oftb by Yosemite even without Cuda.
I downloaded webdrivers and cannot install them.... since it says it is not supported by my OSX version... I red several people had same problem and had to change system definitions with multibeast.

anyway... do you think installing a GTX 9XX and restarting the computer will end in epic fail or no boot etc etc?

I'd like to buyt a new GPU but I am scared about wasting money with a card i cannot use.

Not being able to install the drivers has nothing to do with the GPU. You can always add you system ID to the package check to get around changing your smbios. Bottom line is the Maxwell based cards (750/750ti/9xx) have to have the drivers installed. If you have trouble installing the drivers just use logic and the error will tell you exactly what is wrong. If you need help modifying the package let me know and I can post instructions.

I have the 980.
Actually worked right away after installing the web driver.
But the setting has to be native osx driver. If I switch to nvidia driver it won't boot anymore.
It worked without cuda drivers installed. But I installed that anyways. How can I check if cuda is working?
And KernelCache has to be "No" otherwise no boot.

Use the boot flag nvda_drv=1, this enables the nvidia driver and the setting in preferences is just cosmetic. You can't use the 980 without the nvidia driver.

Clear your kernel cache using terminal and reboot using kernel cache:
sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel
sudo kextcache -system-caches

I checked. I have the nvda_drv=1 bootflag.
Cleared the cache as advised, but still no boot with cache "Yes".
It shows the "no Drive" sign. (the circle with dash at boot)

Hello! I have my system for about 2 months now. I have a gigabyte gee-force gtx 760. Do i need drivers??
What is the problem if i haven't??

I'm confused as why nVidia wrote those drivers for GTX 900 series to work on Hackintosh? Anyone have good explanation of what's the purpose?
