Thanks for the reply Stork! I'll try that out when I get home tonight. I chose the real audio driver but don't remember doing the Intel audio driver.

Lastly, how do I remove the kext for the old Intel boards?

Hi There,

You're lucky if things went smoothly, I've had nothing but trouble with this motherboard...

I already have a fine working Asus hackintosh, and wanted to build another and choosed this motherboard as it was said to be compatible.
The rest of hardware is :
Intel Core i5 4590
Samsung 840 Evo 120Go
Crucial Ballistix Sport XT DDR3 2 x 4 Go PC12800 CAS9

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 750 OC - 1 Go

It is a new machine, so there is no OS running on it for now.
I've tried everything...

I tried to boot with GraphicsEnabler=No IGPEnabler=Yes ncpi=0x3000 since I have a nvidia 7xx card. I tried verbose, safe and clear cache mode. I get stuck right after "missing bluetooth controller transport" (found fixes on this forum but didn't help) and DRMStatus - errorcode 8877652 (also searched for fixes but nothing worked).

The only difference is when I flag UseKernelCache=Yes. then I don't see all the other errors, but the boot crashes while telling me it's "waiting on <dict ID="O">.....", well, for a bootable media with install files.

If any of this rings a bell, it would be most helpfull. I checked Bios settings and they seem to be ok (SATA HCPI, vd-t disabled, the rest is optimized settings)

I booted on -v -x during installation and also post installation to complete the OSX set up.

In addition, I removed all unnecessary components (any additional hdd and additional rams; only had 1 stick of ram in the mobo). Have you tried removing your GPU? It is also stated in Stork's original thread to use the tonymacx86 Installation Guide for Mavericks if you're using a discrete graphics card.

Gtx 750 is not supported! I know because i have just given one to my mother to put on her pc.... 500 bucks here in Brazil...

Research deeply before buying if you dont want to loose money as i did....

Hi!

I've tried builing exactly the same system but got stuck with some problems already shortly after booting. Is it possible that my problems are related to Yosemite?

Hardware:
- Gigabyte H97M-D3H
- Intel i7-4790K 4GHz
- Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB

The 16GB flash-drive I'm using:
- Unibeast 5.0.2
- Multibeast Yosemite

Beside that:
- SAMSUNG 840 Evo Series 500GB SSD
- BE QUIET! Straight Power E9 580W

Again I'm using Yosemite, not Mavericks. You seem to have done your installation with Mavericks. Is that right? Beside that my machine itself works fine, could install Lubuntu without any problems.

My Problem:
I even cannot start the initial setup. In verbose-mode the routine stops around the Bluetooth-part as described by many people in this thread

BIOS Settings:
As suggested, loaded optimized settings in the beginning.
-disabled VT-d (but not Intel Virtualization Technology as shown in the screenshots HERE )
-SATA mode = AHCI
-Initial Display Output = IGFX (I've connected my test-display via VGA to the onboard-graphics, not DVI!)
-Boot Mode Selection = Legacy Only
- I've tried disabling the BIOS' turbo boost option as suggested by mrdmadev

I've started building this machine because of this thread, I thought I won't run into any problems ;-) Initially I followed the usual thread.

Stuff I've tried:
- normal boot without any flags -> apple logo + progress bar freezes after a while
- flags -x -v -> see my screenshot
- -v GraphicsEnabler=No -> same...
- -v maxmem=4096 -> same
- -x -v maxmem=4096 -> same

Any ideas? I also wanted to try Mavericks but you cannot find it in the App-store anymore...

Thanks for your help!

[UPDATE]
I've switched over to an Asus GTX 760, 2GB what solved my problem. See my successful build described here and also you can check out my blog-post here.

Thanks :)

You have what is known as the "Haswell Freeze" which is caused by either memory, which is not on the Gigabyte H97's motherboard Memory Support List, or a PSU not rated Haswell "ready" or "certified." Check both the memory and the PSU as you might have to replace either/or both of them.

I also recommend you look at the BIOS settings in my HZ97N Yosemite guide to see if you can see anything that you might have missed.
