Clover patch for external display

I find it a good thing to connect the external monitor. However when I plug the monitor to the DP jack, the system crashes. Similar with the VGA out.

On what hardware? Do you have a crash report?

Download patchmatic: https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-maciasl-patchmatic/downloads/RehabMan-patchmatic-2015-0107.zip
Extract the 'patchmatic' binary from the ZIP. Copy it to /usr/bin, such that you have the binary at /usr/bin/patchmatic.

In terminal,
Code:
rm -R ~/Downloads/RehabMan
mkdir ~/Downloads/RehabMan
cd ~/Downloads/RehabMan
patchmatic -extract

Post contents of Downloads/RehabMan directory (as ZIP).

Also, post ioreg: http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/58368-guide-how-make-copy-ioreg.html. Please, use the IORegistryExplorer v2.1 attached to the post! DO NOT reply with an ioreg from any other version of IORegistryExplorer.app.

And output from:
Code:
kextstat|grep -y acpiplat
kextstat|grep -y appleintelcpu

Code:
kextstat|grep -y acpiplat:
13 2 0xffffff7f827e8000 0x65000 0x65000 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform (3.1) <12 11 7 6 5 4 3 1>

Code:
kextstat|grep -y appleintelcpu
returns nothin'

Hope it suits - thanks in advance!

Does not look like Mavericks... (looks like Yosemite).

Post your config.plist.

There are some patches you might try here: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Clover-Laptop-Config

As to whether you change the connector-type from 04 to 08 is debatable, so try both.

works on yosemite?

I resolved this btw. using a dock that provides DP, HDMI and DVI as well as additional HD bay for backups and other nice extensions. Good investment so far, this notebook has really great value and usability.

Closing/opening lid and dual monitor mode works too - great!

For the benefit of others, explain what you changed.

Actually I did nothing, just bought a docking station that fits:

HP 120W Extended Docking Station A7E36AA.

Everything works right off. It has a bay for 12,5mm HDD caddy or an optical drive. I then bought a few caddies to use them with different HDDs. I.E. one for Windows, one for a backup drive and so on. It increases the flexibility enormously.
