Having a problem with update from 10.8.5 to 10.9, need guidance

Hi,

I'm having some problems getting my audio to work in my current build.

Asus Rampage II Gene
Intel i7 950
Galaxy 9800GT

I'm hoping that a solution can be found or someone can point me in the right way.

I've extracted my DSDT (original attached) but could not find the HDEF section to edit and I've already installed the 2 kexts mentioned linked in the thread.

Any help will do,

Thanks

Hi!

You don't need the other two kexts that were in the original package.
You only need these two. You can try without a DSDT, but I recommend you to use a DSDT.
Attached you'll find a good and already patched DSDT for your motherboard. Try it.

Hi, I'm new hackintosh user and i have the Asus p5q deluxe mobo. I have gotten the ethernet to work but i can't fix the sound. I have tried to use your DSDT file but every time i install it i get stock on "waiting for root devices" when i reboot the pc.

Maybe you got some helpful pointers for me

Sorry for the double post, but it is necessary.

I found a solution! I edited a kext, and found an AppleHDA.kext patched by ErmaC, and those two kexts together enable sound in Mavericks. :)

Attached you will find a zip file containing the two kexts that you need to install.

Moderators: please mark this post as Solved, because I cannot edit the title. Thanks!

Does this work on Yosemite ?

Yes, this works on Yosemite too

If your DSDT have all the necessary information, just install the two kexts, repair permissions, and restart your hack. If it doesn't work then you will have to modify your DSDT, or if you are using Clover to boot, you can make the necessary modifications with Clover Configurator.

Recently installed yosemite on my Asus P5Q-E(I think the p5q deluxe is exact board with 16 phase power vs 8 phase power)I used latest unibeast and mulitbeast to do the install.
I followed the yosemite installation guide by cacamaca
The installation guide is for the Asus P5Q which has a different ethernet card and audio card. so I didn't do what he included for that. I also didn't install Kext Dev Mode from multibeast which he used to install his audio.
Following the guide, After installation, I copied the Extra folder from the "USB yosemite install" to my main folder, then I launched multibeast and installed
1. Chimera 4.1
2. Mac Pro 3,1 defintion
3. GPUEnabler=Yes
4. IGPEnabler=No
5. Theme white Tony Theme

I have not installed anything else,
The computer runs well with my WIFI card and bluetooth dongle without any other modifications.
It sleeps wakes and shuts down reboots fine.
The problems I have are the audio and my ethernet card.(could be a lot more but I want to get a consistent way to get these running then move forward with other issues.)
Other things that need working on is (TRIM, iMessage, App Store, FaceTime)
I don't have a DSDT or anything like that, is it possible to use the DSDT that you used for the p5q deluxe since the p5qe boards are so similar or would you like me to create a new DSDT?

My specs
Asus P5Q-E
Q9550 (OC 3.6ghz)
8gb ddr2
2 570gtx SLI
TL-WDN4800 wifi card natively works
IOGEAR GBU521 natively works
1 128gb SSD for hackintosh
1 128gb SSD for windows 8
1 2tb HD

Would you recommend anything else be installed from multibeast? just since you know this board perfectly? like 3rd party sata etc. or a different Mac Pro Definition since mine shows intel xeon quad care 4.3 ghz.

Well, hope you found a solution. If you didn't yet and still read this, let me know.
