Laptop ALC892 - Testers Needed

Thank you RehabMan for your answer. Your name came up a lot when I was installing Yosemite in my laptop. I'd like to thank you for all your guides. Could you please point me to where I could test other AppleHDA's or even how to patch it myself?

1)Two Headphone jacks are working
2)Internal speakers NOT working
3)Very good no distortions

Selecting internal speakers will output audio through first headphone jack
selecting LineOut will output audio through the second audio jack

Yes there are three layout files names layout1,..layout3 and a platforms.xml files. Need to study how these files work, or if you can remap those values that will be great.

I'm on the same laptop as you (themaskofwraith) but I can't seem to get this working.


Using VoodooHDA.kext- it see's my devices, but only the internatl speakers work.


Using AppleHDA.kext (this one) no audio devices are present. I've followed all the guides on "No Sound Devices" etc no have helped.

I've tried with and without HDAEnabler.


I have used Clover to set my audio ID to 1.


Attached is my IOreg file.
Please assist me any way possible

The ioreg shows layout-id=3.

That's strange- in Clover config (I'm sure it's the right EFI folder) I can confirm I've set the audio inject id to 1. This could be the problem.

Where/what else could be changing my audio id?
