Hi,

I've tried to direct update my Yosemite rig but no way, I'm stuck on a IOUSBHostFamily error when rebooting to "OS X Install".
I've tried as well a clean install with unibeast 6.0, but same issue.

Anyway, I still can boot my Yosemite with clover, but after each boot, I have this error message when Yosemite is up : "You shutdown your computer because of a problem".

Is it possible to remove this message and to remove the pending update (the "Boot OS X Install" available in clover) ?

Thanks,

Here is the screenshot

Please put your specific motherboard model in the system information area on the left and/or your signature. It's hard to give good advice without that.

There are X58 tips in the AppleUSBUHCIPCI kernel panic tips in the big solutions post. Not sure it would help an X79. You can look at the other suggestions there as well.

My MB is an Asus X79-Deluxe. I can't put it in my signature as it's not available in the list.
Thanks for the link, I'll give it a try and will let you know.

Thanks guys for your replies.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work.
I've tried with cpus=1 npci=0x3000 darkwake=0, but still no luck.

Place this in your El Capitan /Library/Extensions until i figure out a Clover patch. It is basically a symlink kext that causes the AppleUSBXHCIPCI not to load because of Bundle Library version difference. Don't forget to fix permissions in /L/E. For some reason only our boards suffer from this panic during boot. All other X79 boards seem to boot fine expect if they boot with a device plugged into an ASMedia USB port they claim they see the same panic.

I have been working with a few developers and specifically Shilohh has been a tremendous help with this. He had prepared several SSDTs to try and none of them worked. This is still a work in progress.

All USB2 black ports should work with this kext and SSDT.aml file. The bad thing however is you won't get any PCIe USB3 card to work becuase the XHCIPCI is disabled but who cares if you can't even boot to Desktop. So this is a dirty short term fix.

Console Message when kext is loaded:

10/11/15 10:37:32.374 AM com.apple.kextd[42]: Load com.apple.driver.usb.AppleUSBXHCIPCI failed; removing personalities from kernel.

I've tried your SSDT and kext, but I'm still unable to install El Capitan.
I'm on a fresh Yosemite install and I try to update to El Capitan or to install it from scratch (usb stick created with unibeast), but I'm stuck on IOUSBFamily blah blah blah and can not start the installation process !
I've put your SSDT and dummy kext (with fakesmc) on my usb stick, I've tried with npci=0x2000 nv_disable=1 -v, disabled and disconnected all my USB3 devices, but no way :(
Is there any way to install El Capitan on this ****ing Asus X79 Deluxe MB ?
