Hey hope someone can help me, and sorry to ask this...

but i was wondering what would be the best way to return my computer to factory settings (if a 'best way' exist) as i would like to go back to windows for different reasons.
Back when i installed os x i erased and partitioned my hd and ssd for mac, does this mean i have totally removed any hidden UEFI partition that i would be able to install windows from?
im guessing it does :(

so hope someone can tell me the best way to install windows back on my machine, just removing os X.

its a asus rog g551jm

i understand if this is not the forum for this

Your recovery is gone. You should have created USB recovery media via tools provided by the manufacturer. Contact the manufacturer for recovery media, or do a fresh install of with Windows retail.

thanks you rehab man
sucks i didn't do that :(

you know if it will be a problem just to get any windows 8.1 iso file and install it ?

You should not "get any windows 8.1 iso"... Get official ISO from Microsoft.

You will need a product key for Windows 8.1.

If your laptop had Windows 8 when you received it, your product key is Windows 8. In that case, you'll need to install Windows 8 first.

ok thanks for the help
truly grateful.

problem is that is seems impossible to get a hold of the computers product key as it supposedly is incoded in the bios or something..
so dont really see how i can go on :( ..
would i be able to get it if I just install windows from a DVD i borrowed or something? ..
called asus and they dont have a recover media for this computer :(...
guess i have to buy a new windows 8.1 with a product key

If the product key is in BIOS, it should be picked up automatically, provided you install the correct version. But you may need the OEM recovery media to do that.

Is there a good Way to do a "USB recovery media" of my OS X clover set up now before I start installing Windows or Linux back on it
