my laptop: HP Envy 15t-k000, 10.10.2.

DPCIManager reports my card reader as Realtek pci-e, vendor ID 10EC, device ID 5227.

the card reader works properly in windows 7.

i tried the vanilla JMB38X.kext ver. 1.5, and then modded the JMB kext info.plist by replacing the JMB vendor/device id with that of the realtek reader. both to no avail. the SD card does not show up in finder.

system profiler reports that the JMB38X.kext IS loaded.

any ideas?

thanks in advance

No sense in trying a Jmicron driver with a Realtek device... Certainly the driver's ::probe is failing (you cannot rely on System Profiler report, because of kernel extension lazy unload).

Most card readers are not supported. There is VoodooSDHC.kext, but it needs work...
