I'm trying to install Yosemite (10.10.1) on Toshiba E45-4200 (1920x1080 Full HD) laptop. I followed the Yosemite guide found here (http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...oting-os-x-installer-laptops-clover-uefi.html).

I have a USB 3 16GB Flash drive that I partitioned into two (MS-DOS FAT32 500MB and the rest JHFS+. I first tried with config_HD4200_4400_5xxx.plist (renamed to config.plist) and got into the Clover boot screen and selected Verbose mode and after a long verbose text, the display showed me some weird graphics and seeing something scrolling thru the screen. I picked config_HD4200_4400_5xxx.plist because mine has a Intel HD 4400 and the graphics card is a Intel HD 4400 (Full HD) but I'm not seeing anything specific for 4400 with Full HD.

Next, I tried with config_HD4000_1600x900 and changed the ig-platform-id value to 0xa260006 (as mentioned in the guide) and still the same issue. Not able to see anything on the screen after a while.

I understand you recommend USB 2 8GB flash drive but so far I didn't see anything specific with the USB 3 16GB drive that I'm using.

Also, in the CPU-Z, I'm seeing for Processor: Intel Core i3/i5/i7 4xxx. Does this mean mine is 4 series?. If that's the case, I'm not seeing a specific .plist in the .zip file that I downloaded off of the link from your guide.

I have attached 3 files (H1, H2 and H3) and the last one (H3) is a screenshot of the display scrolling thru from right to left after I pressed ENTER key twice.

Please help.

Thanks.

According to your profile, your laptop does not have HD4000 (stick with the correct config.plist).

It may help to sleep the display. It may also help to implement the brightness patch: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...ching-dsdt-ssdt-laptop-backlight-control.html. You might also try plugging in an HDMI monitor. Or setting the GUI/ScreenResolution in config.plist.... Or enabling legacy support in BIOS.

Thanks RehabMan.

I used the 4400_4600_5xxx series plist and connected my laptop to a external monitor thru HDMI (1920x1080) and voila!, I was able to see the display and in the middle of the install, the Toshiba notebook was able to show the display. I'm facing couple of issues though.

I tried to install the Clover installer onto the HDD and it did but not able to boot. When I removed my flash drive and rebooted, on reboot it says "Insert bootable media or press any key". How do make the Clover installer get successfully install on the HDD and show up as a boot menu? I didn't select the USB specific install options but picked the HDD options (Install RC scripts on target volume and Install Clover Preference Pane but didn't pick EmuVariableUefi-64.efi), didn't pick Optional RC Scripts.

When booting though, I'm seeing garbaged screen during boot but looks fine in the login screen. Not a big deal. But, is there a way to fix this?

The second issue is in the System Report, the Bus speed is showing as 400 Mhz. Is this too low? I'm also seeing a slight lag in the performance of the laptop. Also, the Model Identifier is set as MacBook Air6,2.

The third issue is in System Preferences. I'm seeing "No Mouse found".

Thanks.

Did you select "Install for UEFI" in the Clover installer?

For glitches during boot: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-laptop-support/145308-fix-resolve-boot-screen-garble.html

MacBookAir6,2 is the best match for your system.

Did you install ps2 drivers?

Thanks again.

The UEFI option did it and was able see the boot menu from HDD but when I selected the Yosemite option the screen is all blank and not doing anything. Don't know what is missing here.

The rest, I'll do as you say and report back.

Can you help me with the boot issue?

Thanks.

Did you copy the correct config.plist?

Ouch...I didn't copy the .plist. Which means, whatever I did for the USB install, I should do the same for HDD install along with the USB specific files?

In the guide, in step #1, it says, if you're installing on HDD, do this. But, I'm not clear if the USB options are also required when doing a HDD install of the Clover installer.

Please advise.

Installing to USB is very similar to installing to HDD. In either case you're attempting to boot OS X on your PC hardware.

Where do I copy the config.plist to Hdd?. If installing on the sub initially I know from the guide where to copy to. Also with other files, where does it go on Hdd path?

thanks.

It goes at the same location as you used on USB, but on the EFI partition (EFI/Clover/config.plist).
