Hi guys,

Having recently acquired a Lenovo Flex 2 14 I'm attempting to install OSX.

4th Gen Intel® Core™ i3-4010U (1.70GHz 1600MHz 3MB)
intel HD 4400
4gb ram

So my problem starts when trying to get the installer running. I made the Unibeast USB without a problem and I get to choose USB installer to boot from but it quickly bombs out and boot loops.

I have trid setting -v and -x flags along with GraphicsEnabler=No but it isn't having it. I wish I could say where it bombs but I don't even get chance to note it down before the boot loop.

Would love some advice on getting this working from you kind folks :)

Cheers.

Not a desktop. Moved to laptop support.

Or consider Clover, http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...oting-os-x-installer-laptops-clover-uefi.html

Thanks for moving, hadn't realised :)

I have looked through the guide linked and am still coming up with issue however. Booting with -v the process runs for a while and then crashes out at the following stage:

The screen then goes blank for a second and then the following shows:

At this point the laptop reboots as normal (into Windows).

I have added spec to my profile but just to replicate:
Lenovo Flex 2 14 Laptop
4th Gen Intel® Core™ i3-4010U (1.70GHz 1600MHz 3MB)
Intel(R) HD Graphics Family 4400

Apologies for the poor quality photo's, I had to record these as a video and then freeze frame it for a screeny as the process was just too fast.

I'd really appreciate any help with getting this going.

Thanks again.

Just to add ...

when booting without verbose I get a split second where the Apple logo shows and it looks like the installer is about to start but this is immediately before the crash.

I have also just tried booting using all the recommended / popular InjectIntel ig-platform-id's relevant to HD4400 as shown in the guide:

GraphicsEnabler=Yes InjectIntel-ig=0500260a etc

This makes absolutely no difference and it is frustrating as I think I am about there, just need the right flags to kick it all off!

Read the guide carefully. It appears you forgot to read the part about patching the kernel.

You should really consider using Clover... But even with Clover, you'll need to learn to read carefully.

Great, thanks for your reply.

Your quite right, I had overlooked the needs to patch the kernel. I have now done so and am getting further I'm pleased to say, though still not right through to the installer yet.

Booting now I can make it all the way through to an error about 'Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport' and eventually the grey screen with the spinning beach ball. It goes no further.

From what I've read the Bluetooth message is a red herring and it is in fact the next stage it's failing at (graphics error possibly).

Is this where I need to use the InjectIntel command to get past this? I've tried the most common value from the guide and it makes no difference. I can't see anything in the guide about this despite looking over it serveral times.

Can anyone please help me get past the grey screen and through to the installer? I feel so close and yet so far now!

As an aside, I've imaged the Unibeast USB in prep for trying the Clover method. Would I really benefit from going this route when I've got this far using Unibeast?

Thanks

I'd recommend Clover. But if you want to go the Chimera route, boot verbose and show quality photo of the entire screen when it stops.

If you recommend Clover as a more viable option that's good enough for me!

I am on with the Clover build now and am waiting on copying files.

Thanks
