Hi!
I am trying to make a fresh install of yosemite with the downloaded 10.10.5 from apple store.
A lot of trouble with the boot, I suppose because multi beast is not updated for this version.
How to find an older version of Yosemite?
Many thanks

I know...
I followed this : http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...king-ga-x79-up4-nvidia-geforce-gtx-760-a.html
I managed to make almost everything work by FIRST installing multi beast for mavericks 6.1.0 for the audio and THEN 7.4.1 for yosemite to which I had to add AppleIntelE1000e v2.5.4d otherwise the network did't work.
And I had to follow these steps precisely. If for example I launch first multi beast for yosemite and then yosemite for mavericks it would not boot. Or if I install just the network kest after, it would not boot.
After this it could boot and reboot without problems.
But very strange after that I did just three things : install Davinci Reolve, put the computer sleep in Never (because the sleep does not work, I had the same problem with mavericks) and remove the USB installer after reboot.
After that it does not boot anymore.
I did this twice.
Now I am trying do all the steps again and try to understand which of the three operations above breaks the boot.
Any ideas?
Many thanks.
Luca

After you install the MultiBeast options (but before you reboot) run an app called Kext Wizard with the System/Library/Extensions, Repair Permissions and Rebuild cache options selected. See if that helps. If you are unable to boot then boot verbose (-v) this will run pages of text. Take a good clear picture where the text stops running and post it using the manage attachments feature.

The guide that you have linked to uses SSDT Options > Sandy Bridge Core i7 - DO NOT USE THIS OPTION
I would also avoid using the USB 3 option.

Many thanks.
I followed your previous advices.
(Forgot to tell that as I have a SSD I also checked in multi beast trim 10.10.3, could be a problem?)
Everything worked, boot and reboot ok.
I removed the unibeast usb install.
It didn't boot the first time but the second yes.
Then everything ok until I install Davinci Resolve 12.
I reboot and now doesn't boot.
You can see in verbose in the attached pics where it stops.
Many thanks
Luca

Still waiting for root device often signifies a problem seeing the USB installer during installation. If you are getting this message after doing post installation MultiBeast then it looks like the sata drive is not being found.

Questions - Is USB3 installed?
Can you boot by selecting the USB drive at the Chimera screen?
What SSD do you have installed? Does it support OS X - check the manufactures web site for firmware update for OS X.

Following your advice I didn't install the usb 3 in multi beast.
The SSD is a samsung SSD 840 EVO 250G which is in the buying list/
I was already using it for mavericks.
I have another same SSD connected. Should I remove it during install maybe?
I am trying again to reinstall.
I will tell you if I have the same problem and if I can boot from the usb.
But what is weird is that everything works and boot normally until I install davinci resolve

I do not know if the second SSD is for Windows or used as a scratch disk for your Davinci Resolve projects. For now I suggest that you disconnect it. Do not apply Trim from an earlier version of MultiBeast. Instead use the trimforce command in terminal. See Stork's post:

EDIT: Check that your OS X compatible firmware is up to date - this has been an issue in the past for other users.

Two options on the audio. Use a USB solution or fault find with the current version of MultiBeast. Both of these options require you to NOT use MultiBeast for Mavericks - which is probably going to help your build run smoother.

I suggest as a priority that you look to running with no audio at all to see id you are having the same issues or if as I suspect a different outcome.

I am doing all you said starting from update ssd.
I also realised that my unibeast install usb was plugged into a usb3 port and I read somewhere it can cause problem booting.
I will tell you how it works

Shall I leave Mac Pro 3.1?
