I've been running an i7 hackintosh using multibeast since snow leopard and it is currently running yosemite with no issue (just so that you know I'm not a newbie and in more of the low-moderate range when it comes to hackintosh and multibeast).

I have a dell precision T5500 with a single xeon cpu, 12GB of memory, ati firepro graphics card, and 500GB sata drive (plan to migrate it to an ssd apple raid after I get it working).

I get it installed using unibeast (i'm actually on my 5th reinstall) but when I reboot after running multibeast i get the grey circle with line through it even booting from the unibeast usb. if i run in verbose mode it says waiting for Root device. I tried looking for a dsdt and kexts to use but couldn't really find anything.

I've also noticed that before i even run multibeast its brutally slow but I'm assuming that's just because it isn't configured properly as it runs blazingly fast running win 7 x64 (so I know I don't have a hardware issue).

Any advice I could get would be awesome.

Thanks in advance

Connect OS X installed HDD to first 3Gbps SATA port (Lowest Numbered Port).
Set SATA mode as AHCI on BIOS.
Disable VT-d on BIOS.

Then try to boot.

it must be the VT-d in bios because I have the rest setup as you stated. I'll give that a shot and get back to you. any recommendations on the options to choose in multibeast?

thanks for replying so quickly. I really appreciate it

Update your build's hardware details under Profile > Basic Information section in the below format (Profile link is available on the upper right side of this website)

System : Motherboard + BIOS Version + Bootloader (Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU : Detailed CPU Model
Graphics : All Graphics Devices

For Example,
System : GA-Z97X-UD5H (F9F) (CLOVER)
CPU : Intel Core i7-4790K
Graphics : Intel HD 4600/NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980

I'll just reply with it in the thread for right now since if i can't get it working there's no point in updating my profile.

its a dell precision T5500 (early 2009)

System : Intel 5520 (ICH10 ACHI) / BIOS Version is A16 (latest) / Bootloader Chimera v4.0.1 (not loaded yet as I cannot get it working using multibeast v7.2.0 (1))
CPU : Intel Xeon X5550 @2.66 Ghz Quad Core (1 CPU)
Graphics : ATI Firepro v3750 256MB

Thanks!!!

no luck all of these option were already set properly in the bios. I must be choosing the wrong options with the multibeast install. I've tried easy beast which says its for xeons with no luck. I've recreated the partition and reinstalled yosemite using unibeast usb. I can reboot successfully multiple times. it just stops working after i install multibeast. i can't seem to find a guide or dsdt out these with the correct settings.

Details should be on your profile, otherwise we have to check all of the post for identifying the hardware details.

There is no point on updating profile after everything got worked fine.

If you don't know the exact options, then go with limited options which required for booting as like below. If you are facing issues on boot you modify the settings.

Note :- If you had installed OS X to a SSD then deselect the "Drivers > Disk > 3rd Party SATA" and "Drivers > Disk > Intel Generic AHCI SATA” then select the "Drivers > Disk > TRIM Enabler > 10.10.x TRIM Patch

Ok I'll make sure to update it tomorrow. No luck. I used only the options you listed and when I rebooted I got:
boot0: gpt
boot0: test
boot0: test
boot0: test
boot0: gpt
boot0: test
boot0: test
boot0: test
boot0: error

If I boot using unibeast it just reboots

Updated my profile

Awesome!!! that fixed the boot 0 errors but now I'm stuck in a boot loop. I had to boot with -v -x to boot into safemode. My first thought is perhaps I need to configure the graphics card and thats what's causing it. it thinks it's a generic graphics card with 3MB of memory lol. I know sound and the nic aren't working yet and not sure what other system drivers i need to install. I guess I'll have to mess around with different multibeast options soon but it's a good start.

Thanks
