Here's a list of things that are funny with my build of Yosemite Hackintosh. Is there any way to either wipe all the kexts and DSDT and start fresh again or has anyone experienced these issues?

Issues:
1. Screen, Keyboard Input and Mouse Control will freeze about 10 seconds after the user login prompt appears. If I'm quick enough, I can type in the password before the system either freezes or displays a kernel panic error message. Sometimes it works if I do a GraphicsEnabler=Yes option at start up when the default is GraphicsEnabler=No, even though I shouldn't have to given my video card.

2. Sometimes the Mac Network settings console will not recognize the network card

3. Sometimes when I go to shutdown the mac, I receive a kernel panic.

- (How does one take a screenshot of those without using my camera? All my ones on my camera are really fuzzy...)

Update your build's hardware details under Profile > Basic Information section in the below format (Profile link is available on the upper right side of this website), So that we can avoid scroll back to your fist post for identifying the hardware details.

System : Motherboard + Bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU : Detailed CPU Model
Graphics : All Graphics Devices

For Example,
System : GA-EP43T-USB3 (Chameleon)
CPU: Intel Quad Core Q8400
Graphics : ZOTAC GeForce 240GT

Need a photo of the KP screen to identify the issue.

Also try booting with flag -f and check if the freeze happening or not.

Thanks for the update. I attempted to add the profile info as instructed. Still need a little cleanup, but it's a good first start.

I'd like to get a screenshot for you, but every attempt I've done so far hasn't worked. Is there some way to trap the kernel panic message and dump it to a text file on the hard drive?

Thanks,
- Scott

Is the system taking a reboot as soon as the panic message displayed on screen??

Could you please explain what wizardry happens when the -f flag is run during the boot process? I did this and my problems seem to have gone away.

Also, I'd still like to know if it is possible to clean out all the custom kexts and such to take it back to Before MultiBeast settings, just in case something should happen again.

Thanks so much for your help. Much appreciated.

-f is for ignoring caches while booting.

There is not automatic way for this, you have to manually remove the kexts which all were you had installed with Multibeast.

But why you want to do this as you have a working OS X now.

You may have issue with the caches, use DPCIManager utility and run Repair Perms and Rebuild Caches, then reboot OS X and check the normal booting.

DPCIManager : http://sourceforge.net/projects/dpcimanager/

If the booting again getting stuck then open the org.chameleon.boot.plist file and change the UseKernelCache to No

Hi Jithin,

Thanks for all your help on this.

The reason why I want to know how to manually remove the kexts and other system configs even though the system is operational is simply to know how the system internals work in case I might come across an issue in the future.

I'm doing a research project on how the Mac internals (kexts, etc.) work. Do you have any suggestions on documentation I can read on how they work and maybe a guide on how I could possibly build my own? From what I can gather, the Mac OS is based on BSD and a Linux variant (Darwin?). I know how to use Linux command line and some of the system setups, but I feel ignorant with BSD.

Any words of wisdom are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
- Scott
