Hi..I am attempting to install Yosemite on a Core i7 based PC using a USB thumb drive. I followed all of the instructions including setting the bios to defaults and changing the hard drive mode to AHCI mode. It works up to the point where I see the apple logo on a gray background and the progress bar gets about 25% of the way across. Then the screen goes blank and no matter how long I wait nothing else happens. Any ideas on a workaround. Thanks.

How are you connected to your monitor ?
VGA is not supported - Use a digital connection - DVI or HDMI.

Boot with -v and post a picture of the screen when it stops.

Thanks but no vga, its a dvi. Not much to post, the screen simply goes black, the monitor shows no connection, and it stays that way.

No hardware information and no diagnostic information.
Not really a lot to go on here.

Asus P6T Deluxe V2 motherboard, Intel Core i7 920 with 6 gigs of ram. 2 WD Caviar 750 MB hard drives. They were running in Raid 0 when it was a windows machine. Nvidia Gforce AMI Bios.

I had this issue. I'm not sure about your computers hardware, but for me I had to physically remove my graphics card and use the onboard graphics just for the install. Also, i had to switch monitors because my main monitor was higher than 1080p. Once I did those things it worked like a charm. A bit annoying but worked.

make sure your internal graphics is set to "enabled" in the bios before removing your card. It's a bit of a pain...but it worked for me.
