Hi guys,

I've managed to install Yosemite properly. But when it comes to the point of post installation I can't help myself. It's just not booting without Unibeast USB. I've tried to set up Clover and punched in all my bootflags and edited the config.plist but it's just not booting.

I have the following components in my machine:

  • i7 5820k (Cpu is 100% supported after Patching Kernel)
  • Gigabyte X99 UD4
  • 128GB Plextor M.2 10Gb/s
  • 16gb crucial ddr4 2133MHz
  • gtx970 windforce 3x oc (Graphics is 100% supported with webdriver)

How I managed to install Yosemite:

Kernel Patch:
installation: sudo perl -pi -e 's|\x74\x11\x83\xF8\x3C|\x74\x11\x83\xF8\x3F|g' /Volumes/USB/System/Library/Kernels/kernel
post-installation: cp -R /Volumes/USB/System/Library/Kernels/kernel /Volumes/Yosemite/System/Library/Kernels/

Boodloader:
installation: unibeast 5.0.1

Boot flags:
installation: -v -x -f npci=0x2000 cpus=0 nv_disable=1
post-installation: npci=0x2000 kext-dev-mode=1 nvda_drv=1

I read a couple of articles about cloning my fresh installation to an MBR format drive but would this help me?

How are you guys doing your post installation?

  • Chimea of Multibeast isn't loading from HDD - just from USB... :(
  • Clover isn't booting up properly

Thank you sooo much.:beachball:

Hi,

I have a Gigabyte SOC Force MB with the same video card, cpu is 5930.
I managed to boot properly with chimera after unibeast install. Which settings did you use for chimera? Btw i never got clover to boot up, no matter which changes I did to the config.plist.

Hi Luke, I just did a fresh install. Everything is working so far.

Now I'm sitting on the post install procedure:

Should I go for Multibeast and apply your settings to my system?

BTW: I've tried the No DSDT setup before - with no success. :(

BTW, can you show me your Chimea Settings so that I can try it out on my system?

Cheers, K.

After install i booted into OS X installer from the usb, copied the kernel like you did.
Reboot again with help of the USB.
Installed nvidia drivers and Multibeast with the settings from the screenshot.
Set bootflags to npci=0x2000 nvda_drv=1 kext-dev-mode=1
Than my system booted into OS X without problems.

Which drivers do you have in your "extra" folder?

Hi Luke, thank you soo much! Now it worked but imessage isn't working and my audio as well as ethernet isn't working. :(

hi i have same setup i have x99 gigabyte with your same cpu i first installed on guid drive then i used carbon copy to clone to mbr drive after you need to put npci=0x2000 in your plist so you can booth directly without usb

for audio you need to instal voodoohda latest one and it will work
