Hi guys, i have buy a move on iTunes, but when i try to play it its stuck.
(( Black screen, slider not moving, no audio ))
Its even not playing trailers.

Any idea why?

Hi,

I have the same issue and searched in several threads for this. The problem seems the DRM that prevents to play iTunes movies and trailers on external devices like your monitor. So this is not a bug it's intended. Some people saying it's only for HD movies, but i have the same issue with standard resoultion videos.

There were some things i read and tried, but nothing helped:
- Select in iTunes/Preferences/Playback Quality the standard resolution instead of HD for your videos
- Start iTunes in 32bit instead of 64bit. (Right click on iTunes.app/Open in 32bit mode) (Not possible in Yosemite)

I give up, but when you found something let me know

unfortunately, iTunes movie content does not work on IvyBridge & Haswell Hackintosh machines, it's been well discussed on the forum before and nobody has cracked that nutshell. It worked on my retired P45 Hackintosh and someone (can't remember who) reported that it also works on Sandybridge

sorry to be the bearer of bad news !

ivy and haswel don't play DRM protection on hackintosh machines but how ever Sandy bridge does I've just built a Sandy Bridge hackintosh to get around this problem and I've got to admit i can no watch movies I've downloaded in the iTunes store

but in Mavericks if you downgrade iTunes it actually does work on Ivy I've done it ages ago and it worked for me theres a guide on the net somewhere to do it

I do not understan what CPU have with DRM.
And real MAC HW is using Haswell CPU.

That may be the case but the fact is, as jbamford has said;

We don't have "real" MAC HW so this is something you'll just have to live with.

In the meantime, something I've not seen discussed in these types of threads, won't a player like VLC play these videos either?

from Core 2 processors to Sandy bridge will play DRM protection just fine but the fact that ivy and haswel doesn't its something to do with HDCP also another thing to bare in mine that after Mountain Lion 10.8.2 worked perfectly fine with Ivybridge it did for me but the only way to get around this problem is that you use a Sandy bridge or build a Sandy bridge machine or a Core 2 quad or Core 2 duo machine as it will work fine also some people have reported that official macs has had this problem and no VLC won't play movies from iTunes due to DRM protection but I've built a Sandy bridge machine to fix this problem because all of my TV shows and Movies are in iTunes

Yea - If I may chip in - I feel iNCv3's frustration at not being abled to play my iTunes purchases like before on my rig. My way around the problem was, as I have Windows on another ssd drive (Dual Boot), I can play all my iTunes material. If you have a copy of windows lying around and a spare disk you could go that way.

yeah you could go around that route tbh but i didn't do that i just built a Sandy Bridge machine because i was given a core i5 2500k and looked around for the motherboard for the chip and went with the H61N-USB3 and now iTunes movie content works  also another thing i would like to say with this Sandy build is that i also have HDMI audio :headbang:
