I have successfully installed Yosemite on my Mini Hackintosh.

Specs:
MoBo: Asus H97i-plus
Processor: i5-4690k (OC to 4.1Ghz)
GPU: Asus Strix GeForce GTX 970 (OC edition)//(Changed from GTX 760).
RAM: Ballistix sport 16GB (2x8GB) 1600Mhz
Harddrive: 2x1TB Seagate 7200RPM (as storage)
SSD: 2x128 GB Samsung 850 Pro
CPU cooler: Cooler Master Nepton 140XL (liquid cooling system)
Case Fan: Cooler master 120
PC Case: BitFenix Phenom - White
OS: Dual Boot - OSX Yosemite & Windows 10 tech preview

Installed using UniBeast & MultiBeast

I also installed NVIDIA Driver for mac that could be found here:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/mac-driver-archive.html

Note: I previously used GigaByte GTX 760, but I found that it wasn't working properly. I've tried with both windows and Yosemite but it was no different. I keep getting graphic problem. Apparently it was the GPU BIOS that has problem and not the driver. I have tried every single driver available, but none of those works. But I would suggest to try with different drivers and different OS first if you encounter the same problem because apparently there is this driver issue for GTX 7xx series. You are NOT ENCOURAGED to update your driver if you don't have any problem with the current one. But if you use GTX 9xx series, you ARE ENCOURAGED to get the latest driver.

your configuration is similar to mine. tell which driver you use to lan and sound?

Please share step by step intsalation thx.

Here is a cheat sheet for the H97i-Plus install using MultiBeast. IMO H97i-Plus should be the default recommended board for the Hack-Mini.

1. Change Windows Secure Boot to "Other OS" in Bios (may not be required)

2. Normal UniBeast/Multibeast Install
http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...-x-yosemite-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html

3. After first boot run MultiBeast with the following and then reboot:
DSDT Free
ALC887/888b Current
Optional 3 Port (5.1) Audio
Trim Patch
AppleIntelE1000e v3.1.0a

4. Turn on Intel Virtualization in Bios after install if you want to use parallels

5. You should now have everything but iMessage & Handoff etc. working. (Sleep, Audio, & Ethernet should work)

6. For Handoff etc, Wifi, & Bluetooth search Ebay for "BCM94360CD card" and "BCM94360CD adapter". If you order the two, combine, and install in your machine you will have native wifi AC and bluetooth 4.0/BLE for around $50. IMO this should be the default for nearly all builds.

7. For iMessage:

Download the following:
KextBeast
http://www.tonymacx86.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=32

Chameleon Wizard
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/257464-chameleon-wizard-utility-for-chameleon/

iMessageDebugv2
http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-help/110471-how-fix-imessage.html (in the attached files)

Yosemite NVRAM
http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-h...ite-fix-imessage-using-chameleon-chimera.html (in the attached files)

1. Use Chameleon Wizard to Update serial number etc. to preset iMac 13,1 (Ivy) or iMac 14,2 (Haswell)

2. Reboot and ignore caches (don't sign into iMessage yet)

3. Use iMessageDebugv2 to make note of your MLB (BoardSerialNumber) and ROM
*If your MLB is Null you can try injecting a new UUID into Extra -> SMBios.plist. See Path B in Chapter 5 of How to Fix iMessage. Use terminal command "uuidgen" to generate the number. After rebooting and making note of your MLB (disregard = sign) you'll need to remove what you added to SMBios.plist and reboot.*

4. Follow the instructions in the second post of
http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-h...ite-fix-imessage-using-chameleon-chimera.html
and you should have a truly fully working hack-mini.

5. If the thunderbolt update pops up use the terminal command:
softwareupdate --ignore ThunderboltFirmwareUpdate1.2

Enjoy!

Hey there promac34,

I just purchased nearly identical parts; i had been mulling over the Asus H97i-plus and the Gigabyte H97-Wifi, ended up going with the Asus (less overall negative reviews, and I don't need wifi/bt for my purposes).

Anyway, my question is, have you had issues upgrading to 10.10.3? I saw some posts where the security update for 10.10.2, a week or so ago, had caused lots of grief. Just curious if you've had success upgrading from 10.10.2 to the security update, or even 10.10.3.

Thanks much for the concise installation guide. Always helpful when successful build owners take the time out of their day to do that for us.

Hey there promac34,

I follow your detailed instructions. All steps go smoothly. Unfortunately, after step 5 my SSD looks like not bootable. I can boot only using USB stick (and all working in this case). What is wrong in my installation process?

My setup
mobo: ASUS H97i-plus
CPU: i7 4790K
RAM: 8 Gb 1333 GHz
video: HD 4600

Regards!

With which options you had ran multibeast??

What is happening while trying to boot from SSD without the help of USB??

I used options:

DSDT Free
ALC887/888b Current
Optional 3 Port (5.1) Audio
Trim Patch
AppleIntelE1000e v3.1.0a

as was recomended. Enclosed is parameters file of Multibeast.

In case of boot without USB stick computer goes to BIOS screen. SSD is visible in BIOS.

Regards!
