(Solved) Yosemite Installed But Only Boots From USB

Using Unibeast Was able to Install 10.10 Yosemite on my Hackintosh. Having a slight problem. Once installed, It would freeze at the apple loading screen.

Doing some research I found this thread: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...ss-unibeast-installation-ga-z68ma-d2h-b3.html looks like others have this problem too and there is no solution at the moment.

Trying a bunch of boot flags in the boot loader i found it started telling me "Mach kernel not found" so i found a workaround in this thread: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...-find-system-library-kernels-mach_kernel.html and edited my boot.plist and now I can get it to boot only if i boot from USB first then select my HD. It will not boot from hard drive.

Overall it looks cool but some of my programs are incompatible, I have to upgrade them. I figure I'll use it for a little while I can always downgrade back to 10.9.5 if I have to. Any ideas how to get it to boot from hd? Here's my setup

Gigabyte z68ap-d3 mobo
Intel I5 2400 processor
16gb ram
Samsung Evo SSD
Nvidia gtx 460

By the way I looked at something in multibeast about AppleACPI rollback 10.9.5 for gigabyte 6 series motherboards, do you think if I installed that it would boot? Haven't tried it as I'm not sure what it does.

Thanks

May be because you have an older version of chimera on your hdd?

thanks for the reply. sorry for not writing this! I did install multibeast 7.0 with the new chimera I have everything working right now, sound internet etc... Just wont boot!! Thanks

I had the same problem. Turned out that FakeSMC kext did not load. Maybe you should check that. Booted to single user mode (with kext-dev-mode=1), and loaded FakeSMC manually.

I have Yosemite Beta installed on a different partition for half a month and I had exactly the same problem -> I could only boot from USB.
Right now I installed Chimera 4 and voila, I can boot from HDD now. The secret is in the chameleon.Boot.plist, take a look at mine.

This one is important:
<key>Kernel</key>
<string>/System/Library/Kernels/kernel</string>
.

BTW I checked my hard drive and even though I installed "trim support" it says "trim support: no" why would that be?

Hey everyone, I got it to boot! Installed AppleACPI Rollback I think that did it. I also installed Trim support once again (or maybe I just didnt check the box the 1st time). Trim is now supported. Im back. Whooo! Hope this helps someone

ciao a tutti e saluti
Marco

By the way I went in and edited by Boot.plist and removed this string after installing appleACPI rollback 10.9.5

<key>Kernel</key>
<string>/System/Library/Kernels/kernel</string>

it is able to boot without this string now and boot time is much faster, whole computer seems rock solid now (just like i had it with mavericks maybe better)... So bottom line you gotta do a few workarounds right now to get it going but its running stable over here now

(not to mention i used cDock because I hate the new colors on the dock I changed it to a darker color. Looks Nice Now!!!) (Ps I hate the system font looks like crap) (but I did customize the colors its Black / Grey / white on my desktop and menu's, looks really nice)
