I've built a hackintosh using the recommended specs, GA-H67N-USB3-B3 F7, a Geforce 440 card, etc. It works mostly ok (except for occasional USB madness), but the fan is quite loud all the time -- like it's stuck on high. Is there anything obvious I might be missing to enable power-management or something?

Thanks!

2 things come immediately to mind....

1.) do you run W7? Does the fan do the same thing?
2.) could you have been, sadly, supplied with a noisy fan from the manufacturer? I'm sure you bought a high quality card, but it, rarely, does happen.

just curious because a few years ago, I had the same situation with a gtx285 that I wound up sending back to NE.

Thanks,

R.

is the card identified properly in system profiler or does it say something like 4XX are u useing graphic enabler = yes or no?

It is correctly identified in System Profiler; no mention of graphic enabler. Anything else I should look for?
