So i have purchased a eSATA 6G PCIe 2.0 Controller Card but it still shows up as unknown. I know it uses the Marvel 88SE9128 chipset. It works but only at half speeds. Anyone have any luck getting these to work at full speeds? or have a SataIII solution??!

thanks!
There is no support for SATA 3 at this time.

at all? the card claims it works with real mac pros, wouldn't it work then? I've read people getting it to work with the sandybridge procs

Hi Macman, just quick question, since sata iii is not supported is it advisable to use sata ii connection for a sata iii hdd? or it doesn't make any difference?

Thanks

All SATA 3 drives and controllers will run at SATA II speeds until there is support.

I ran a test today thinking I had SATA3 capability. I moved a 1.7 GB file from my SSD (start up drive) to the following drives in my system.

1:05 min. - Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB SATA 3.0Gb/s
45 sec. - Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 7,200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s
1:57 min - Buffalo 250GB external 250GB HD USB 2.0
Is it just better architecture that would make the difference on the 2 WD internal drives?

THX! great help!
