RTL 8187 10.7 lion help

This device worked in leopard, but it drops signal in SL, Lion.

It's the Rosewill RNX G1 using the RTL 8187 chipset. I've heard it works with kismac.

Any help? Should I post more info?

It seems they only went to 10.4 and stopped.

Does the manufacturer have any updates for 10.6.x. drive support?

You might have to purchase a new wifi dongle it seems or check kexts.com to see if anyone left a kext for 10.6.x support.

Thank you. I'd be happy to donate in the future. I have the kismac / kali team looking into it for me. I contacted the manufacturer, who offered me the gift card haha. They also stopped support since 10.4, but it works for 10.5.


They mentioned their newer counterparts work for 10.6,10.7, which cost a lot more. I plan on either finding a workaround or getting another one. Will check kexts.com.
