HDMI audio on MSI EX720

Hello,

I have an MSI EX720 notebook. Everything works fine, but audio. It has:
Realtek ALC888 on Intel 82801IB ICH9
NVidia HD Audio on Intel 82801IB ICH9

I've tried all versions of voodoohda, but no sound on hdmi. Also tried applehda with some enablers, still nothing.

Do you have any ideas?

Is on board audio working? Have you tried MultiBeast?

Yes. The realtek 888 onboard audio works with voodoohda and applehda both. (no mic in applehda, but that's no problem)

Attach the AppleHDA.kext you are using.

After some google I found a new kext (attached).
Works:
- Notebook's speakers (it has 4.1 built in, 2.1 is working by creating a multi-output device in audio midi setup, however volume control does not work when doing this.)
- When I connect a headphone, speakers are muted and sound is coming from headphone without changing the default output device. Great. But when using multi-output device the notebook's sub isn't muted.
- Microphone: when I connect an external microphone, it's ok. Notebook's internal microphone has only noise. If I knock it, I can hear it, but no speech. (Tested over Skype and FaceTime).

The kext is so old that it does not support HDMI audio. Seems the kext works fine for onboard audio (the issues you found are normal). Need to find something newer, preferably Lion, to move forward.

Can you recommend a newer one that I should try?
