 So this is my first Hackintosh build. I've been doing research for weeks now on all sorts of compatibility and performance issues. But now I need input from the experienced, to point out any obvious things I'm failing to notice.

  • Main components:
    + Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-Deluxe
    + Processor: Intel Sandbridge 3.40Ghz i7 Quad-core (Socket 1155)
    + RAM: 16gb Corsair Dominator DDR3
+ Graphics: 2x ATI Radeon HD 5770 (Crossfire)
+ Power Supply Unit: Corsair AX850
    + Harddrives:
    OCZ Vertex 3 120gb
2x Western Digital Caviar Black 1tb 7200rpm (General Data + Raid 1 Mirror)
3x Western Digital Caviar Black 2tb 5400rpm (Raid 0 for 1080p video capture)
    + CPU Cooling: Corsair H100
    + Optical Drive: Asus Blu-ray 12x
    + Case: Corsair Obsidian 650D

  • Extra's:
    + A few extra Be-Quiet Silent Wings 120mm fans
    + Corsair Airflow RAM fan
+ Lian Li - SATA Memory Card Reader
+ ASUS U3S6 (Required to allow all the SATA drives to connect up internally)
+ Blackmagic intensity shuttle (the pro won't fit inside, and I prefer the extra sockets)
    + Linksys WMP600N Wifi card

Amazon wishlist: http://www.amazon.co.uk/registry/wishlist/2WBXYZNCQR57R?reveal=all&filter=all&sort=universal-price-desc&layout=standard&x=6&y=16

Any criticism or advise would be well received.

Thanks!

Crossfire doesn't work on Mac. Or...?

Oh right... quite a major oversight.

So I suppose my best option would be to get a singular graphics card, which is just as powerful as 2 graphic cards. Probably something in the HD 6000 series. I need it to support 3 displays.

I've never used nVidia before. What would be on the same sort of level as the ATI HD 6000 series?

HD6870 is the best for Hackintosh. I think it's the the only real OOB card. :)

hmmm

How about the 6950? I use Final Cut Pro primarily.

Do you think there wil be many conflicts with that graphics card?

No support for 6900 Series. Maybe nVidia Quadro 4000?
