1.Follow the directions very carefully. Set bios as stated in above link and saved. Rebooted with iBoot CD then ejected and hit F5 after putting in SL Retail DVD. I had to use bootflags, "PCIRootUID=0", "-x" to boot SL DVD.

2. Erased my SSD and set to GUID in Disk Utility. Formatted to Mac OS (Journaled)
Showed up in "Install Here option". Ran installer. Once rebooting I removed SL DVD and placed iBoot CD back in tray. Once iBoot started it seen my OSX install. I used the same boot flags as step 2. Booted to SL. I did not get the start-up video. But it did boot to SL Desktop. I had my DSDT from the databasehttp://www.tonymacx86.com/dsdt.php along with Multibeast and combo update to 10.6.8 from Apple on USB drive. Along with updatehelperhttp://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2011/07/get-ready-for-os-x-lion-update-to-1068.html. I was initially confused as to wether run update helper or multibeast first. I went ahead and ran updatehelper, rebooted with the bootflags from Step 2 above. Thanks to samisnake for clarifying.

3. Opened Multibeast and copied my DSDT to the desktop and renamed accordingly. But I did start Multibeast just left the window open as stated in the guide. Ran comboupdate from Apple.
Once complete I went back to Multibeast and selected the minimal options in Multibeast.

4. I then rebooted and I did not have to put any boot flags. It boot to SL desktop.

5. Realizing my USB 3.0 ports where not working I then ran multibeast again selected:

Then they started working fine.

Comments:

I wanted to have an easily upgraded pc\mac gaming machine. so naturally a Hackintosh was the way for me to go. Since I’ve been buying prebuilt Dell for most of my life I took the plunge on my own build. Having a friend that built a Customac from here. I picked my components and away I went. My process was simply following along Tony’s Guides.

My build was a little expensive but it was well worth it. I only had to install SL once. And the DSDT from the database and multibeast had everything working great.
I had originally received the Corsair Obsidian 800 Case, it was damaged during shipping so I sent it back and ordered the 650D. I think I like the 650 better. the 800 is just to darn big.

EDIT: I will update as I plan to add another SSD. Put Apple keyboard away for next build. Went back to G15 for Windows gaming. Just ordered another Gigabyte HD 6870 card for crossfire. Never overclocked before. Would like to bring it up to 4.0 Ghz or better. If you have any suggestions I will reply. And if you need some help I will do my best to help!
Thanks!
Edit: Everything I purchased for my build came from CustoMac page.http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/search/label/CustoMac Minus my case, and Corsair H80 Liquid Cooler.
Thank you Tony and Macman. First time noob, second time Geek. I've learned alot how OS 10 works. Just from here. Terminal be damn! Seriously thanks!

Well that is freaking fantastic - what an awesome build you have there.

Great job ... are you going to try doing a raid-0 with the 2 SSD drives?

No raid yet. Just wanted Windows 7 on ssd also. Maybe when prices for large capacity ssd's come down I'll raid them.
Thanks for the compliment!

I am going to build a similar system with the same case, Corsair Obsidian 650D, and I wonder if you could answer some questions:

  • 01 - what did you do to connect a molex power connector coming from the top of the case? what does this molex power to? [/*:m:28v0kce6]
  • 02 - Did you connected it directly to the power supply or did you find and molex-sata power adapter to use fewer cables? [/*:m:28v0kce6]
  • 03 - Also I find this molex is a male-female molex all in one. So which one do I use? [/*:m:28v0kce6]
  • 04 - what do you do to connect the front usb 3.0? I am thinking of buying a 20 pin usb 3.0 adapter, but I don't know which one to buy, for this is my first build ever.[/*:m:28v0kce6]

Thanks in advance.
