COMMENTS

I just wanted to put a spec list on a computer which is working 100% on El Capitan. It was certainly not plug and play, but with much time spent on the boards, I can confirm this is a working configuration.

Notes:
1. XP941 was not recognized in UEFI; I had to create a custom BIOS by adding Samsung drivers. There are posts on this site detailing the process. Im not sure if one of the released Beta BIOS available elsewhere on the internet provide this capability.

2. Audio working by using CLOVER injection method by Toleda. Toleda’s contribution to this site is legendary

3. Monitor is working 100%, I am using a scaled resolution 2560 x 1440 seems to be a sweet spot. 1080p is way too big

4. iMessage working by custom Clover serial. etc. Followed directions in their entirety, no problem.

5. It should be well known, but with 960 installed, one needs to boot with nv_disable=1

Any questions on install I can try to answer.

Yes, working 100%, but perhaps a few caveats.

1. Audio is working after sleep, but I am using BLACK output. Green output is lost after sleep for some reason, I can't figure it out.

2. Boot time could be better. Not sure why, but using the tonymac config.plst , edited for SMBIOS for imessage, results in slower boot time than my original config (generic clover config.plst with only addition being toleda audio edit). maybe 3 seconds slower. I don't know what effect kext-dev-mode=1 and rootless=0 have on boot time, but those flags are absent on tonymac config file. After making my edits (and without those flags), my boot time has slowed. Slightly disappointing, as the xp941 is otherwise awesome, even if i am not getting the same speed as a true x4PCIE interface would.

Is there any difference between Black and Green output? Or Black just works as Green? If there is no differences, so I don't mind what color of the output :)

Not so fast...I strongly recommend learning how to do this rather than taking someone elses files:

For installation and config:

http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...-el-capitan-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html

For BIOS:

http://www.tonymacx86.com/bios-uefi/130920-recommended-bios-uefi-settings-beginners.html

My config is identical except for my custom serial numbers, which are mine. And the audio injection, which needs to be patched after installation:

I would install with integrated video first. Then you can monkey with video card.

I would suggest using UEFI installation rather than legacy. If you get an xp941, then we can talk about custom bios.....

Thank you, I have El Capitan installed without problems (except audio and sleep) on my old config, so I think I can install it on the new config too.

Anyway, already bought GA-Z97X-UD3H, i5 4690K, G.Skill RipjawsX 2x8GB DDR3 1600Mhz CL9. Already have Samsung 256Gb SSD and Radeon HD5770 (will change to better card later).

Will play with it on friday :)
