Updated 4-10-2016 - El Capitan 10.11.4
Although X99 is still not supported by Apple, this config works fine (no sleep). There are no great options for a mATX X99 board, yet I'm pleased with this board.
The latest bios is F22e. Get it here.
Set bios to Factory Defaults. Set X.M.P. to Profile 1. I run Clover UEFI and want CMS disabled so unlike the Asus boards we need a different way to choose "Other OS", set these options:
You'll need these files to use this guide so download and save before you begin the install...
Unibeast - EFI-Installer - EFI-System - EFI Mounter v2 - X99 USB Patch - Clover
Installer EFI Folder - System EFI Folder
If you're using a nVidia series video card you'll need the latest nVidia Web Drivers:
http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/100824/en-us (10.11.4)
Notes:
1) This install assumes you are using a nVidia GFX 900 series card, the appropriate boot flags are already in the attached EFI Folders. You'll need the latest nVidia Web Drivers:
http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/100824/en-us (10.11.4)
2) This process assumes you have a basic understanding of both OS X and Clover
How to create the installer: Format a 8GB+ USB with GUID partition mapping and name it USB. Insure the Install OS X El Capitan.app is in your Application folder and follow this guide:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...-el-capitan-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html
Be patient, this process could take 20 - 30 mins to complete. Once the Unibeast process is complete you'll have a EFI disk on your desktop. Dbl-Click it and "delete the EFI folder and replace it with the EFI-Installer folder you previously downloaded" (the folder must be named EFI).
1) Boot to the USB Installer and follow the prompts to install OS X. Restart:
2) Boot to USB again and select your boot drive (the ssd/hd you installed to). Run Clover with the following settings:
Once again you'll have a EFI disk on the desktop. Dbl-Click it and "delete the EFI folder and replace it with the EFI-System folder you previously downloaded" (the folder must be named EFI). Install the nVidia drivers you downloaded. The nVidia install will force a reboot, boot to your SSD/HD and you should now have a fully functional system.
(If for some reason USB 3.0 is not functioning properly, move the X99_Injector.kext from EFI/Clover/Kexts/Other to the system drive /Library/Extensions)
This is an extremely easy install that yields a very sweet system. Hope this helps anyone wanting a X99 mATX solution... I'll keep this post updated while waiting for Apple X99 support. Feel free to post questions and I'll make every effort to assist.
