About This Build:
I built this Hackintosh from my main desktop. Hackintosh uncompatible mobo was on its way out so I did some research and found that another user confirmed the P5Q SE PLUS to be working and took a bet and won! After an initial test install, I bought the HD5850 and am currently running dual boot OSX 10.6.6 and Windows 7 off a SSD.
Steps:
1. iBoot, install Snow Leopard Retail
2. Boot into with iBoot (to dual boot, skip to step x)
(Dual Boot)
2.1. Format HDD with 2 partitions and GUID table
2.2. Format partition 1 with Mac Journaled, partition 2 as FAT32
2.3. Install Windows on partition 2
2.4. Install SL Retail on partition 1
3. Update to 10.6.5, Multibeast
Multibeast Settings:
[X] EasyBeast Install
[X] System Utilities
[ ] Drivers&Bootloaders
>[ ] Kexts & Enablers
>>[ ] Audio
>>>[X] Universal
>[ ] Bootloaders
>>[X] Chameleon 2.0 RC5 - ATI Experimental
4. Restart w/o iBoot
5. Install complete 8gb RAM
6. Update to 10.6.6
7. Install VoodooHDA.kext 0.2.43 for volume controls from: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index. ... 3321&st=20
Comments:
Working 99% in 64 bit mode. The only problems I've encountered is the graphics glitch out sometimes and requires me to unplug and replug in my DVI connector and sleep (AFAIK) doesn't work.
If anyone could help me getting sleep working, that would be great!
For the record, I tried running with a X1900XTX and SL DVD froze at ethernet drivers
