    About This Build
    • I put together this system to be my Testing rig to use with different Boards and graphics. For this configuration, I am attempting to test overclocking performance for the CPU and memory on a new Haswell setup

    • Using the GSKILL 2933 Single sided MFR IC memory from hynix for higher performance timings are tight. The default memory settiings at 1333 gave me -2K on Geekbench V3 32bit

    Installation
    Using F6 Bios, there are only several changes in BIOS:
    • Change the memory frequency to 2933;
    • Change primary timings to 12-14-14-35
    • Manually set the VDIMM to 1.65;
    • Manually set the CPU VTT to 1.05;
    • Change CPU Multiplier to 42X and Vcore1.2 (for the i7-4770K only)

    I am using Mountain Lion 10.8.4. So, first, I made the UniBeast USB thumb drive with latest UniBeast

    tonymacx86 software downloads:

    Run UniBeast on your Mac or hackintosh and choose your USB. Now, then run HaswellHelper on your USB, your UniBeast USB derive is ready to install Mountain Lion 10.8.4 on your Haswell rig.

    Boot from your UniBeast USB thumb drive (F12) and choose your USB called °USB° before. Upon booting into the installer, first, use Disk Utility (top Utilities menu) to Format your installation SSD or HDD, and Call it Mountain Lion. Close Disk Utility, and, once back into the installer, choose your "Mountain Lion" drive for installation of Mountain Lion 10.8.4.

    Note: when installation is finished, use the tonymac86 Temporary Installation Guide for Haswell Systems [10.8.4 only] to copy the modified mach_kernel for Haswell CPUs to your installation drive.

    When this done reboot and this time boot with your "Mountain Lion" drive; choose country, keyboard and the rest of the option.

    Then, you'll see WELCOME TO ML 10.8.4

    We're almost done. Using Safari, go to tonymacx86.com, log in and download the latest MultiBeast to install the appropriate drivers.

    This is the MultiBeast configuration I used for my rig:

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

    Reboot

    Here's What Works So Far:
    • Audio only USB headset and not Speakers with ALC892 ...
    • Network
    • Sleep
    • iMessage
    • USB 3 with USB2 speed need to wait 10.8.5 or 10.9

    Summary
    Haswell system performance increases with Memory frequency and nice timings. Try it yourself - run Geekbench or Cinebench CPU with memory set to over 2400 to see the real difference.

    Here's my tests with Overclocked memory and CPU to easy 4.3GHz which is much faster than Ivy Bridge.

    Sweet build! Good luck with your entry in the contest for "overclocking" the memory.

    Great build Hiwa. You didn't hold back. I think the contest for overclocking memory is already won

    thanks guys 3550Mhz is done but that so low to what we did at computex this year highest was the worldrecord 4285MHz

    Haswell IMC is very very strong.

    How do you reach so high frequencies with your memory? Do you water-cool them? Also what is the benefit of faster memory vs more memory? Also I assume there is no luck with the built in graphics? Anyways great build! Ive been waiting for haswell builds all day. Good Luck in the future!

    Hiwa - please confirm that your ALC892 audio is working. If it is, can you share which audio kexts are loading?

    Thank you,

    Memories are Air-Cooling, the Default Speed is 3.0GHz, as i said before Haswell IMC ( integrated memory controller) is very very strong and can handle high memory frequency very easy.

    Great job,

    How you got USB 3.0 working? Using MultiBeast?
