Mine's used as a htpc so I use the apple wireless keyboard and trackpad, and a harmony remote.

I use the bluetooth and ir module from a macbook pro. You can get the parts on ebay pretty cheap. Works great and you can be pretty sure that they'll continue to be compatible.

Also, I have the keyboard and trackpad docked in a MagicWand thingy -http://twelvesouth.com/products/magicwand/

currently using:
1 wired apple keyboard for additional 2 USB ports
2 Magic trackpad for my old father could draw Chinese characters just like he did on ipad
3. a Logitech wireless mouse M1100 for better gaming experience.

Never tried new magic mouse but used mighty mouse for 2 years and very stressful to use it. IT is unconformable to grab and the little rolling ball is a nightmare to clean.

I use a Das Keyboard Ultimate with a Logitech G500 on the right and an Apple Magic Trackpad on the left. I've found it to be the perfect combination.
