    There is no difference between the different Mac Pro cases.

    Wrong there is a difference it's the frontpanel I think the spilt is between 2008 and up

    What ever your preference is, 2006 (early Power Mac G5) has one DVD Late 2006 (MacPro) has 2 DVD slots to recent models.


    As for the front panel the 2006 IO is an 18 pin layout and 2009 is a 44 pin layout I do believe :D

    He asked about the case.
    For the front panel wiring you essentially just have to use a different wiring diagram.

    Do you have a 2009 case? If so you don't need stuff from the other cases. You won't need to mix and match stuff.

    They are going to be the same, only thing is check out the front panel for wiring.
    I have been trying to get some old links for you but I am at work.
    I know there are 2 or three different front panel connections. the 44 pin one and possible two others but I'm slow to the draw today lol.
