hey, this is my first post on this site, I think the usb-stick should be max 2gb to use for the bios update, maybee thats the problem it didn't work in first place....read this at some site.
That usually is the problem. I just upgraded yesterday and it wouldn't boot because of this. If your USB stick is bigger than 2gb, it won't boot. I ran out and got a 2gb SD card from Walgreens and booted from that. The firmware update worked flawlessly. If you are gonna do it, make sure you are comfortable patching your dsdt.
