Everything works except resolution

Hi

I've run pixel clock patch v2 successfully, IOKit patched.

Everything works except the resolution. It detects my display running at either 800x600 or 1024 x 768. Is it because i'm using a VGA cable?

Successfully installed El Capitan 10.11.15. My build are:

CPU - i3-6100
MB - GA H110M-DS2
RAM - 2x 4gb value corsair 2133 mhz
HHD - transcend SSD (forgot what model)

VGA support in OS X is somewhere between "bad" and "non-existant", so yes, this might be your problem here.

Do you have full graphics acceleration in OS X?

It was fine when i first installed it. ran at 1080p native. after i reboot it went straight to 800x600 as default display resolution.

How do i know if i have graphics acceleration? so far everything looks ok to me. had jittery graphics at first but fine after reboot.

Easiest way is looking for graphical effects in OS X, e.g. ripple effect when adding a Dashboard widget.

That works without hiccup. Anyway to hard set it to run at 1080p?

"Option-click" in System Preferences -> Display? SwitchResX?

Installed switchresx. the resolution appeared (1080p) but once i select, it is an upscaling ie. everything appeared horrendous.

Sad. Tried to google if other had similar issues but no avail.

I suspect its because i'm using VGA cable.

Will update again if i have a solution.

Meanwhile I'll weep.

Able to scale to 1980 but not native display. Things look terrible - text especially. I noted this only happen after i install HD530 patch.
