Out of ideas... please help.

I have a solid install that has been running perfect for months:

Snow Leopard 10.6.5
GA-X58A-UD9
Primary HD: WD6000HLHX (2 partitions=SL + Win7)
Multibeast with UD9 (f4bios) DSDT from the database

Everything running smooth... then installed 3D Studio Max in Win7... after reboot

"verifying DMI pool data....." -normal right before Chameleon loads then:

EBIOS read error: Device timeout
Block 0x55d097d8 Sectors 0
EBIOS read error: Device timeout
Block 0x55d097d8 Sectors 0
EBIOS read error: Device timeout
Block 0x55d097d8 Sectors 0
EBIOS read error: Device timeout
Block 0x55d097d8 Sectors 0

Each cycle is 30 seconds... then finally Chameleon loads and I can boot into either SL or Win7.

During these cycles HD LED is on constant but no activity can be heard. Seems like it's just searching for Chameleon as if there is no active partition set but dont see how that could have changed.

Any help... PLEASE!

I had a similar issue months ago with ebios errors and times out
i discovered OSX creates a small 200 odd meg partition to boot from which is hidden I did a reformat and it fixed the issue something was corrupted on the boot drive hidden partition.

Shane,

do you remember if it was the EFI partition -usually disk0s1 ?

Also did you have to start up from the install cd to reformat it?

Thank you very much!! will see what I can do.

Sorry don't remember but I was searching the web when I discovered the info
I reformatted the whole drive
I have 2 internal Drives I always backup with superduper. To another partition so if I screw up the boot drive I can simply restore the boot drive back again. The only thing is that if u format and restore you must run multi beast again only to install chameleon

So I finally did it and rebuilt my machine... this time I will do dual boot on separate drives to keep it simple.

FYI: iBoot 2.6 no longer works with my rig.. could be my graphics, but the uni-vid ver does.
