    Hello guys,

I am a newbie of Hackintosh. With the help of tonymacx86, my first Yosemite Desktop is setup: Z97x-UD3H, 4790K with HD4600, Samsung 840 Evo 128G, Kingston 8G x2. Both Unibeast and clover way are working well, following the guide in this website. Thanks Tony! :headbang::headbang::headbang:

However, I did't buy my monitor yet - I am a programmer and photographer(not my profession), and I fell in love with Retina so deep since I has a macbook pro. So I think probably 4K monitor is better for me. I've been searching on internet for a while and found out Dell UP2414Q is a good one, however, with 60Hz compatibility issues. Recently, Dell released 2 new 4K monitors: P2415Q and P2715Q. By reading the user guide, I suppose these 2 monitors can be @60Hz without MST, e.g., with SST only? Would someone please confirm with this? Thanks very much. If it is, it would be a perfect monitor for me and I will buy it.

PS. I guess I also need to buy a new Graphic card, probably GTX 970...that's also lots of money....:crazy:

This monitor can be found at:

    cheers,
    Vincent

I can confirm that they are 60Hz SST.

I have a P2415Q with GTX750Ti and so far it's been flawless for the past couple of weeks (I ordered mine the day it showed up on the dell site)

Thanks very much for your nice response! :)

However, I didn't get any reply from tonymacx86.com after I posted this thread...so I trusted my knowledge and bought one. The following is the link I posted:
    http://www.tonymacx86.com/graphics/151591-success-4k-60hz-enabled-dell-p2415q-retina-resolution.html

Thank you anyway, you are the first one to reply! ;)

I also took some pictures of P2415Q:

    Hi Brad,

just a some Qs: which sysdef are you using with your Hack? Which drivers are you using with your 750Ti? Clover as boot loader?

Can you see the BIOS POST screen at boot with your 4K?

I got the P2715Q and it is excellent. I'm running at a scaled resolution ~2300 and it is still sharp as a tack - I can't tell a difference between scaled and "best" retina at 1920/1080. If you want a 27" retina display, this seems to fit the bill pretty well at scaled resolutions - plus you don't need any trickery to support 5k.

I'm running this on a Geforce 660ti with clover bootloader. I can see BIOS post screen and clover boot screen on startup.

Since I am also interested in buying this monitor could you share the following?

    - which bootloader and which tweaks?
    - issues with sleep/wake?
    - blank boot screen?

Are there any issues you encounter? I'm also running the GTX760 which we know runs fine out of the box. I am also using the Chimera bootloader from Multibeast and not Clover.

    Thanks in advance.

Do you guys get a blank Boot screen with Dell 4K monitor? What about BIOS when you try to access it?

I just got my P2715Q and the monitor stays black when the boot screen should appear / I try to get into Gigabyte UEFI BIOS.

    I have Gigabyte Z87MX-D3H motherboard (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4490#ov)

There's no problems with my old 1080p monitor.

Some guys say the P2715Q will stay black when waking from sleep.
