Just a quick potentially stupid question but I am just starting out with SSDT's and thinking of generating one for my 4790k. I was just wondering if SSDT's are specific to only the processor or are they dependancies to the motherboard as well?

For example should a fully functional SSDT for a Z87 Asus Board work on a Z87 Gigabyte board with the same processor??

TIA

The SSDT you are referring to (generated SSDT for CPU) would be only specific to the CPU.

Please note that all BIOSes have OEM SSDTs in addition to the OEM DSDT. Think of OEM SSDTs as being "extensions" to DSDT and therefore dependent on the motherboard/BIOS version/hardware configuration.
