Different Graphic Card...

I will not give you 'step by step' tutorial about how to install SL on your G470, but I don't mind to share with you guys what I did to my G470.

Here's what I did:
-iBoot
-SL 10.6.3 Retail Disk
-Reboot
-iBoot
-Update to SL 10.6.6
-MultiBeast > System Utilities, NullCPUPowerManagement, FakeSMC, Chimera v1.4.1 r877, MBP 8,1 System Definition
-BridgeHelper
-Copy patched DSDT to extra folder
-Paste EFI Injection for Intel HD 3000 into boot.plist
-Run 'Mac OS X 10.6.7 early 2011 MacBook Pro Update' >> viewtopic.php?f=34&t=15708
-Reboot
-Install voodooBattery to S/L/E
-Add SystemType=2 into boot.plist (for notebook n' for voodooBattery to run properly)
-Install voodooHDA 2.7.2 n' add line 'IOPCIPrimaryMatch=1c208086' into voodooHDA info.plist
-Speedstepper patch >> viewtopic.php?f=79&t=21564&hilit=speedstep
-Delete NullCPU from Extra folder
-Repair permissions n' rebuild using Kext Wizard
-Reboot
-Done

E/E: FakeSMC+Plugins, DeviceMergeNub

Thanx to MaLd0n & Lenovo 3000 from IM, n' for Tonymac for all those great tools..

;)

Hello, can you post your extra folder and dsdt file please? thanks a lot.

Don't use my DSDT.aml straight away. Speedstep is achieved by using speedstepper patch.Extra.zip

Now is running MacOSX Lion

- I followed Tony's guide >> http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2011/07/ ... -lion.html
- Installed NullCPUPowerManagement.kext into extra folder after 'step 3' finished
- Rebooted n' ran Lion installation
- Rebooted
- Ran speedstepper patch, deleted NullCPU from extra folder, rebuilt cache
- Rebooted
- Unleashed the Lion.. :D

Lenovo G470
i5-2410m, 2.30GHz
Kingston 4GB DDR3 1333MHz
Intel HD 3000

Dual boot w/ Win7 64-bit, using chameleon boot loader
SMBios used: MBP8,1
Updates: SL 10.6.7 for MBP Early 2011 + MBP SoftwareUpdate 1.4

Works:
- 32-bit (sometimes got screen artifacts if using 64-bit)
- Sleep/Wake (no NullCPU, using speedstepper patcher + DSDT)
- Intel HD 3000, QE/CI+Native Res (via EFI injection in boot.plist)
- Conexant HD Audio Cx20590 via VoodooHDA 2.7.2 (IOPCIPrimaryMatch added in info.plist)
- Camera (but got a brightness problem)
- Bluetooth (OOB)
- Battery (VoodooBattery on S/L/E)
- Atheros 9285 Wifi, recognized as Airport (Using DeviveMergeNub.kext on E/E)
- Atheros LAN (AtherosL1cEthernet.kext on S/L/E)
- Fn keys (via DSDT)
- Screen Brightness level (via DSDT)

Not working (yet):
- Internal Card Reader (Realtek USB2.0-CRW)

Thanks @ archintosh :headbang:

I have managed to install OSX 10.6.8 on Lenovo G470. Some things are still not working.

How did you patched DSDT to make Fn keys, brightness and sleep working? Please help.

Working:
1) Display: Intel Integrated HD 3000, EFI string in boot.plist
2) Atheros Ethernet - AtherosL1cEthernet.kext in S/L/E
3) Sound - VoodooHDA.kext in S/L/E, Worked by adding IOPCIPrimaryMatch - 1c208086
4) Battery - VoodooBatter.kext in S/L/E
5) Camera

Not working:
1) WiFi - Broadcom BCM4313(14e4:4727), not sure we have made this working for snow leopard already
2) Fn keys
3) Screen Brightness level
4) Sleep - Both, sleepenabler(pmVersion=23) and speedstepper patcher didn't worked for me. It just wakes up in couple of secs after sleep automatically.

Also having problems with display when connect to external monitor, resolutions remains same and screen flickers.

Cheers

Could you please post a link to download the EFI injection for intel HD3000?

Download the attachment, it's inside my com.apple.Boot.plist.
