Hi everyone,
I’m new here but have done a lot of reading and recently repaired an old laptop Acer 5738Z (just a fan) and am attempting to hackintosh it, I have an original snow leopard disc and a copy of iboot installation went mainly well after figuring out the boot flags needed to get through the installation everything seemed to go really well and I had sound and wifi straight off the mark, the problem cam when I tried updating the combi update and installed multibeast on the drive the machine had a kernel panic and I had to do a hard reset. Since then I cannot seem to get into the operating system at all even with the boot flags that previously worked any help advice would be greatfully received, also could I get It to run Yosemite in the long term.

A google search shows it has GMA 4500HMD. There is no version of OS X that supports this graphics chip.

Thanks for the reply rehabman So does that mean i would never get a stable system up and running because the chipset isn't supported even though i had it running with sound and wifi granted the graphics weren't as crisp as they should be? A modified kext or similar wouldn't work?

Graphics will never have QE/CI. OS X is very painful without QE/CI, unless you plan to run your laptop as a file server. No modified kexts available (none that actually work).

You need a different laptop.
