I have been able to install Snow Leopard from the retail dvd to 10.6.3 using iBoot Legacy.
Installed using an ASUS external DVD drive as my original optical drive failed.
This only worked after going into my BIOS and setting under Performance, Multi Core Support to Off.
My motherboard is MM061, latest BIOS installed is A17.
On first boot with iBoot CD, there was no ethernet, graphics at a resolution of 1024 x 768.
Fixed ethernet by finding a kext for my Broadcom 440x wired internet, used Kext Utility.

I have had no luck with Multibeast or the 10.6.8 combo update so far.
Stuck at white screen with Apple logo.
any suggestions here?

Have you removed the SleepEnabler kexts? They are version specific. Have you also installed chameleon bootloader, too? Does it kernel panic? Have you tried booting '-x'? tell me all the hardware you know that is plugged in to it; processor, gpu, etc.
What you're using to boot it...

We need lots more info to help you! Please tell us everything you know!

[*EDIT: Does it boot after a while, shut off, or show something like a
"" If so, then your PC is not supported, the boot loader cannot continue/the computer has frozen, it cannot find the boot disk, or something could be corrupt.] Hope I help!
