Well, lets started

Listen to Totenkopf i open this thread talk about the new ivy bridge iBoot.
i've got a kernel panic just after press enter in the first screen.

i put the -v -f -x flag but nothing change.

i attach the image of the panic.

system: alienware x51 ( unknown mobo ) - 4 GB ram - 1TB HDD barracuda - igfx hd 4000 - gtx555 (but boot with igfx) - cpu i7-3770 3.40GHz

some ideas? (bios set up to ahci mode - igfx - legacy mode)

We are asuming that you are using the new Iboot for Ivy Bridge CD -

If so you may want to remove the Nviaid 550 GFX card and see what we can do w the onboard cpu HD4000 GFX

The Bootloader should have the injects for the HD4000 gfx enabled ( MacMan would know) as this is what tells OSX how to use the HD gfx.

But their are certain settings in the UEFI BIOS that need to be set like the one is as you stated above - we want it enabled if we are to use only HD4000.
Also the memory size matters - video ram - amount used.

Do a google search on these terms "Enable HD 4000 graphics on your Hackintosh (experimental)" the date on this link will be July 18 2012

This link has information on UEFI BIOS settings also the Chemelon loader which is now different than the older one used in iBoot. - again Macman would know.

then do a Google search on these terms as well "How to set up the UEFI of your Hackintosh's Gigabyte motherboard" the date on this link will be August 11 2012 - if your UEFI Bios is like these then follow their suggestions,

I am sure that you will still need to use control switches at startup - so try these -

when you boot up the new iBoot and get the screen - insert DVD - press PF5 - wait for DVD name to appear - then press space bar - enter this string.

"-x -v -f acpi=off PCIRootUID=0 GraphicsEnabler=No "

Tony has on this site a section on UEFI settings may want to seach their as well

Also you will need to enable un the USB section legacy support!

Also your VGA connection will be non usable as APPLe only use's DVI - if your video disapears this may be whats so...

Nothing llike being a pioneer .... got a buck skined cap.... Mr Boone...

Good to here let us know...-

When you reboot fomr 10.6.8 and after multibease - use these two switches "-v -f "
the v is for the logger to the screen
the f is to force clear of any cacned kexts ( old causing confilicts w new)

finishing the installation, rebooting with the iBoot ivy bridge inserted, no SL icon on screen just the ivy bridge iBoot icon.
it seems like that it cant see the hdd with the system after the installation. (installation works fine)

mumble mumble..:banghead:

i definitly want to be a pioneer and i want osx on that machine!

Did you use the iBoot & MultiBeast Guide

You need to use MultiBeast to run after the 10.6.8 update - so that you can have the Bootloaders installed onto the HD to boot

You maybe able to boot from the iBoot Ivy Bridge Cd and then select the OSX disk and have it boot that way - if so you should then be able to see if you can get to the Apple App store

If you ran MultiBeast you would have selected your Network and sound - as You dont have a DSDT file this will be using the non DSDT method.

If you need help w Multibeast - understanding it - google these terms "How to use Multibeast 3 and 4: a comprehensive guide for Snow Leopard and Lion " date on the screen is January 12 2012

One of the early issues w hackintoshing that OSX installer reset the Settings in the BIOS - re check all your BIOS settings - as you should have the drive icons on the screen of iBoot.

Maybe i understand the misunderstandings :shifty:

when i talk about "installation works fine" i mean that i following the guide until prompted on screen theres the " installation complete..wait for reboot"
so i never arrived at the apple presentation video.
and this with SL and also with ML.

could you understand now?

Perhaps your problem is that you are going about things backwards - I did a search for the specs of the Alienware X51 and it seems you have a Sandy bridge board - not an Ivy, if this is your computer http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-x51/pd
