A major wipeout happened and my backup made with CCC no longer will boot even using iboot[Haswell version] Computer is Haswell GA-Z-87x-UD5H with 16GB Ram. Video is MSI r 7570.

It seems I must be at 10.6.8 for anything such as UNIBEAST to work even though I found the various install software [such as Mavericks, El Capitan, Yosemite]on various data drives.

Using iboot for Haswell and the Snow Leopard install disk, I have no trouble building 10.6.3. [I've don't it several times<grin>]
When I upgrade using 10.6.8 combo- The upgrade seems to go correctly-says it finishes OK. Then I restart planning to use iboot to boot into 10.6.8. Since there is no Multibeast for Haswell, I must boot using iboot. The grey apple screen that I expected appears for a second, then goes to blank. Stays blank for a minute or so and then computer reboots into iboot.
My suspicion is the video card is the problem.

I don't think the internal video on the motherboard is supported with any version of Snow Leopard. I am working with SSDs not HDDs, but don't think that is a problem. Before things went to __________, everything was running Mavericks well. I still have the backup I made with CCC. I had tested it before but it got corrupted somehow.
I have a HP 8460P Laptop[folks have run OSX on it successfully] that I could possibly use as part of fixing things but I cannot think how I could use this laptop as part of the fix.

If buying an older video card is part of the fix, I am willing to try that. I have various other pieces of hardware such as USB to SATA connectors. Don't see a use for that now though.

I was not running any Windows of the Haswell PC but I had planned to do that sometime going forward. The 10.6.3 install is connected to the internet via Ethernet ports on a Router.

Sorry if I made some errors of fact concerning using the tonymac utilities.

What boot-args are you using? 7570 should be OoB for 10.6.8, but if not working try with GE=Yes
One thing you might try is install 10.6.7 update combo. IIRC the App Store first appeared in 10.6.7.
On some boards you once had to update to 10.6.7, run update helper, and then run the 10.6.8 update. You might try that.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE SUGGESTIONS.
I made some progress installing 10.6.8 on another PC GA-p55a-UD3 REV2 F11.
About every other boot it panics but good enough for my purpose to run UNIBEAST.
I do have questions about the GA-z87x-UD5H to Install El Capitan, which was my goal. I needed 10.6.8 to create the UNIBEAST installer[Hope it works].
In the detail instructions to put El Capitan on a bare drive, ITEM #16 Graphics Configuration- What shoud I choose[the x87x not the p55a]?
Is this board series 6?
My "bios" is configured for Mavericks which ran well. Any changes? I understand the instructions STEP 3 such as Optimized defaults,Disable VT-d,disable CFG-Lock,disable Secure Boot Mode.
The detailed guidance with many screens has most screens that do not exists for me.

My next attempt: Create install USB using UNIBEAST 6. Attempt to put El Capitan on z87x motherboard.
FYI: the Boot0 error was the cause of my loss of bootable Mavericks. I could not boot without it even disconnecting SSDs & HDD except the on with Mavericks.

If you are using onboard CPU graphics to install on the 87 board (recommended) then you can ignore the graphics screen options or choose the x87x- inject intel is default in the Clover config.plist.
5 series boards and P55, H55, etc.
6 series boards are P68, H68, etc.
7 series boards are Z77, H77, etc., also known as Ivy Bridge
8 series boards are Z87, H87, etc., also known as Haswell
9 series boards are Z97, H97, etc., also known as Haswell Refresh

I don't understand how to follow your suggestions. Can you be a bit more detailed[I'm 77]
I cannot use UNIBEAST YET because it requires graphics acceleration[a surprise].
My goals now: Install Mavericks or Yosemite or El Capitan on z87x-ud3 with msi r5770 and 4770K.
Status of z87x: 10.6.3 installed. No acceleration unable to upgrade to 10.6.8
I might be able to create a UNIBEAST installer on my other PC
P55a-UD3,i5-560,nvidia 7300 GS[System says it is 7300GT].
Status of this PC 10.6.8 installed no acceleration. Takes several attempts to boot with Kernal Panic.

Let me make sure of what you are trying to do. The build in your sig had Mavericks running and it died. You want to install El Cap but have no way currently to create a USB installer.
So, what you need is iBoot Haswell and a Snow Leopard retail install DVD.
Basic steps.
1. BIOS/UEFI settings - these should be OK since you had Mavericks running already, but we want to use the CPU graphics to install, so set First Init Display to IGPU and set iGPU memory to 64M, save & exit.
2. Since we are installing with internal gpu, remove all discrete GPUs.
3. boot with iBoot Haswell
4. swap iBoot CD for the SL install DVD, wait for drive activity to stop and hit F5 to refresh
5. Select the SL icon and tap down arrow key to hilite Verbose boot so you can see what is happening, hit enter to install.
6. Format your SSD/HDD and install SL.
7. Download the 10.6.8 update combo, install and reboot with iBoot Haswell (forget MultiBeast - it will never boot from HDD anyway, so why bother?)
8. Download El Capitan and UniBeast, create your USB installer.

Report results.

I have no problem installing SL 10.6.3 from the DVD except video acceleration doesn't work. That's why I can't use Unibeast. The step where you select the version of OSX seems to require that acceleration is working. I don't get a selection when clicking. I now am trying everything again using the internal Graphics of the Z87X-UD5H. I was unable to either get acceleration working or install the SL upgrade[10.6.8] with the MSI r7570 card.

Your suggestion[Unibeast] requires that acceleration is working[unless I missed something else]. Without acceleration I need another path to get more recent versions of OSX installed.
Note before the wipe out I was running 10.9.5 routinely and had install Yosemite[not Clover though].
Any suggestions for getting graphics acceleration working using the internal motherboard graphics while at 10.6.3?

I am just about ready to by another graphics card. Saw a EVGA GT740 2GB on sale and it is the card family listed in the recommended build components on TONYMACX86.
I have an ASUS 8400 card on a P55a-UD3 i5-560 system [Running Windows 10]. Do you think I would have better acceleration luck with that older graphics card in the Z87X? If so I can temporarily move the 8400 to the Z87X system?? Just long enough to get a good copy of UNIBEAST.

I think if I get acceleration going, I then can build UNIBEAST [if it works with 10.6.3] and install any recent version of OSX.
I saw a note on the site that it might be easier to install 10.6.7 rather than 10.6.8. The post said from 10.6.7 easy to go to 10.6.8. I'll see if 10.6.7 combination upgrade install is available.

FYI: I have full copies of the install versions of Mavericks, Yosemite and El Capitan if there is a route using them NOW to install any of them from where I sit today.

So far as I know graphics accelleration is not required in any version of UniBeast.
If you have a viable copy of the Install OS X Yosemite.app try install on Z87 board 10.6.3 using iBoot Haswell. Copy the Install OS X Yosemite.app to the Applications directory.
Run UniBeast and create a USB installer.
Install Yoesmite, then update to El Capitan if desired. Or, try just going straight for El Capitan.

What you are suggesting was one of the first things I tried but you could not have known that.
---------------------My Results Trying to Make UNIBEAST INSTALLER------------------------.
When I get to the part of UNIBEAST where I am supposed to select the OSX version to install, all the icons[or if only 1 icon for earlier Unibeast] are faded out[greyed out]. When I click on the icon-nothing happens so I can't get beyond that step. I ASSUMED that the reason the icons were "greyed out" and I could not select was: video acceleration was not working.

I am not totally sure but I think I even looked a the first UNIBEAST that is for LION and had the same issue.

I did not have a copy of the LION install DVD then, even if it worked.
I now have a copy of the LION install but I think it is incomplete because it doesn't have OSXESD.mpkg I found it on DVD image in one of my archive boxes.
------------------------------------NEXT----------------------------------------
At this moment I am at 10.6.3 on the Z87X with no acceleration. I have however re-installed 10.6.3 several times so something might have changed. I will try using Unibeast again.

--------------Why I think UNIBEAST issue is no acceleration----------------------------
NOTE: Earlier in this process to rebuild, I installed 10.6.3 on my P55A i5 computer. On that box I WAS able to upgrade to 10.6.8[no acceleration]. I then tried to use UNIBEAST. Same problem-could not select the version for UNIBEAST. At that point I concluded the reason that I could not get Unibeast to work for me was acceleration, because I was trying from 10.6.8 and UNIBEAST did not warn me that it did not work on 10.6.8.
---------------------------Why not try to create UNIBEAST on P55a--------------------------
Unfortunately when I put OSX on the P55a it clobbered my WIN 10 installation which I needed for many thing. I re-installed WIN 10. Then I could not get OSX to boot even though it was on a separate HDD.
I planned to re-install OSX on the P55a just haven't gotten to that YET because of where the case is located makes it difficult to disconnect the HDD with Win 10 on it.
-----------------------------------Current Status of my boxes-----------------------------
CURRENT STATUS: P55a WIN10 on 1 of 2 installed HDDs. Nothing on the other drive in the P55a.
Z87X OSX 10.6.3 on an SDD with no acceleration. I created with CCC a clone of 10.6.3 on another SDD in case I lost 10.6.3 somehow. I use iboot to get to OSX. Multibeast did not work on either the P55a nor the Z87X. I did TEST that iboot shows the SSD with my cone 10.6.3 AND I have selected the clone and it booted.

WOW! Great suggestions but unfortunately they don't seem to provide the fix I need.

AS said above:
I will try the various versions of UNIBEAST again for 10.9 through 10.11 and see if they will work on the Z87X. I will retry installing 10.6.8 on the Z87X.
-------------------------Maybe the reason I cannot upgrade 10.6.3 on Haswell-----------
I now understand that the iboot created for HASWELL PCs is limited.
I also think[or did I misunderstand] you suggested that it may not be possible to upgrade to 10.6.8 on the Z87X nor get acceleration working.

SORRY SO MANY WORDS.
Again super thanks for continuing to work toward a solution with me.

I'll report any small gains as they happen.
