Hi all.
Because I like Apple devices except that they are not upgradeable, I decided to build my own hackintosh. The problem is that I'm struggling to install the retail Mac OS S X 10.6.3 version that I purchased from the apple store.
I have been able to install successfully using iBoot legacy, but because I was unable to start up after install (Kernel panics even when using GraphicsEnabler and PCIRootUID arguments), I deleted the install and have been trying since then again with iBoot 3.3 instead. I have tried with multiple combinations of the usual boot arguments, but I am never able to complete the install. Whereas the install with iBoot legacy ran smoothly and relatively quickly, the DVD reads constantly back and forth, with little progress shown in the bar (stays stuck at around 15%), until the computer eventually crashes and reboots.
Hardware wise I had removed all components (PCI cards, USB devices, RAM) except the graphic card and 1 x 2GB RAM.
I had obviously adjusted the BIOS as advised: AHCI and 64 bit HPTE.
Any idea what the problem could be and what I should be trying next?
Thanks in advance for your support.
