I am new to the hackintosh deal. My computer specs are as follows:

Dell Poweredge T710 (A server) Currently running Win 8.1
Dual Intel Xeon X5550 quad core processors 2.66ghz each
Nvidia GeForce GTX650

I get past the iBoot and insert the retail SL 10.6 disc. However, I get the "hold power button to restart" message. Upon looking at the details I see that it is saying that it is not seeing all cores of my processor. It only sees 3 cores instead of 4.

Any ideas on this? I would GREATLY appreciate any help.

Thanks

Maybe this will help more than my description.

try using cpus=1 boot flag until you get installed.

Going Bald,
Thanks for the advice. However, it did not work. I have tried -x, cpus=1, and -v.
Nothing is getting it to see all 4 cores. Any other ideas/tips to try or do you think it is hopeless?

Thanks Again

Dual CPU PC-Macs are extremely hard to get operating. Best I can tell you is google for dual cpu hackintosh and see if you can find something that helps. I know the SuperMicro X9DAI has been successfully used and the EVGA Classified SR-2, but I don't know any Dell models out there.

Good luck with it.

That's what I was starting to think. I appreciate your help Going Bald. I will do more research on this.

Thanks again
